I started my own review channel this year, I mainly cover old strategy and tactics games. What makes a bad reviewer for you guys? I tend to avoid making jokes and focused on the game but I think a lot of people want "humorous" reviews.

There's also channels like Jack Frags which I just basically watch for gameplay since he's mostly focused on that and I don't get too wrapped up in that he's sponsored and a big commercial channel. Then there's a laundry list of streamers who I use for gameplay when a game comes out since that's got no editing and all the glaring flaws of a game can really shine through. I don't typically like to spoil large portions of a game before playing but tuning in for 15 minutes on a new game and watching someone play can be really eye opening to what the game is like without watching an edited youtube video.

Certain language or topics getting them demonitized or copyright strikes that have to be fought against. Streaming has it's own host of issues but if you have an already established base of viewers then streaming can be a big boost in income since streams can be broken down into youtube clips and they can now double dip and duel stream to multiple platforms. It's the same reason why you see a lot of youtube pages now having patreons or some other way of tipping them money to keep going because there's been a number of youtubers who make okay money one year and then less as time goes on and need to either change it up or get another line of work. Look at the boundary break channel by Shesez, dude's basically at a point where he might need to start working elsewhere because of youtube not paying the bills anymore. And keep in mind I do think having a job outside of youtube is probably a smart thing to do unless you're in the top % of earners but some people had more than enough to support themselves for years before changes to the platform and how it works starts messing with their content and earnings. My cousin in law is a famous youtuber who retired not too long ago because he was making millions but when I talked with him a while back at a family gathering he was pretty frank about the fact that he was right in the right place at the right time and many talented people who came along after just couldn't break through to the success he had and that youtube isn't for everyone to live off of. Streaming is a much more managable lifestyle in some ways if you have a dedicated audience due to the nature of how the content is made.

I will say when they started getting snooty about some creators wanting to make their games challenging is when he lost me. I ironically didn't mind the transitioning but when it became a focus every other video like it was pride month all year is when I started to get annoyed and unsubbed.
