Not 40 but 34 here and disagree with the people replying to you. For me at least gaming changed a lot as I aged.

It's hard to pick something up and get lost and immersed in the way I used to. My tastes became more narrow, I tolerate things I dislike less and even elements I do enjoy need to be executed a lot better to get my attention. Overall age made me more picky, and even when I get a game that clicks it's hard to enjoy it in the kind of pure way you do when you are young, where only that and nothing else is in your mind.
I still try though and occasionally there's that gem which brings me back to childhood.
