One of the best VR games is now available on PC, Hitman VR finally got updated to parity with PSVR2. Freelancer is now also playable in VR.

Does this mean you can play the entire game in VR? I still have no idea how the base flatscreen game works because it's so confusing to buy

How do you guys cope with everything in VR being paywalled? Most VR jav for example specially on high qualities, a shit ton of things in VR chat.

In fact I think VR Chat's weakness is the amount of paywalled things and there's too much freedom to do whatever so everything is an empty room.
>>
>>721635028
you already could do that this is a separate mode and you just need woa + the vr dlc it has to be woa not one of the separate 3 games or the demo

can I use it without the zucker(((berg))) stuff?
does it work for everything pc related?
>>
>>721634991
I'd look into PSVR even though it costs extra. Meta bullshit locks you into their ecosystem, sideloading requires you to go through hoops including making a "dev" account for meta.
>>
>>721635323
yes you can use it standalone, wired with a pc or wireless with a pc with virtual desktop
>>
Any other vr headset that has the grip stuff from the index controllers?
>>
>>721635634
>sideloading requires you to go through hoops including making a "dev" account for meta.
Takes 5 minutes tbf
>>721635323
Yeah you can play it wireless or wired. Battery life sucks though so you're gonna want to invest in an extra battery if you're gonna play wireless
>>
>>721635686
I think the Quest's controllers track grip. No other controller does individual finger tracking on the controller, but very few games used the feature, and I don't think any used it in any meaningful way besides letting you flip off NPCs. The big advantage that Index controllers have is lighthouse tracking, because inside-out tracking is fucking garbage.
>>
>>721635579
no but you can just make a fake meta account in 2 min without any real info and yes it works flawless for pc but you need a link cable, don't buy the Jewish 100 bucks meta version a 20 bucks amazon one does the trick
>>
kek i was just thinking about this meme earlier today

>>
also VR porn with a decent headset is worth experiencing at least once, some don't like it but properly made VR porn is a total game changer, especially for intimacy and roleplay immersion

>>
>>721635947
>better than the Index
Yes!
>more affordable

>>
>>721636551

>>
>>721635579
You need
>Meta account (burner email allowed)
>Phone App (may register your model and IP)
>You're required to use use the Meta Store for apps.
>You need to install Quest Link on PC for wired connections

You can opt for sideloading to install from third parties but your options are kinda limited too
>Make Meta Dev Account
>Needs 2FA, but can use authenticator apps instead of giving phone number
>Input burner "company name" and accept some NDA
>Install Sidequest or any other sideloading software
>Anything worthwhile is in the meta store anyway

Also most games work through the SteamVR solution. If you want to browse without ads you can install Wolvic which is VR firefox and install ublock. Their app is kinda jank though.

Unlike FUCKING CAPCOM who keeps all its VR titles in exclusivity jail.

Reminder that RE7 was designed from the ground up for VR and is amazing in it, but it still stuck on the shitty PSVR1. Thankfully modders have gotten the PC version working and now its literally superior to the PSVR1 version with actual proper motion controls. Highly recommended

Pretty sure REFramework makes every RE engine game playable in VR, support is naturally built into the engine itself due to RE7. Even works in DMC5

the pc vr version is still fucked there is some kind of foviated rendering on so you a have a sweet spot that is clear and everything else is blurry wtf is this shit
>>

Damn nice price. Did you try eyetracked foveated rendering in games yet?
>>
>>721634743
Hitman VR was already available on PC a while ago, there is even a mod where you can play it at a higher res.
>>
>>721636521
I don't think the psvr2 is worth it from a quest 3 unless you can't stream gaems @ godlike res. When the PC adapter came out a lot of people did image quality test between the two and the old lenses + display resolution doesn't cut it at all.
Maybe for simracing it might be better I dunno

>>721642352

the oled alone makes it worth it, the difference is night and day in darker and contrast heavy games like hl alyx, the resolution difference is minimal its just a little more blurry but pushing the steam vr resolution up makes it negligible also once eye tracking/foviated rendering becomes a pc vr stable its the cheapest method of using the feature thanks to psvrtoolkit

Removing the unique IP count was a mistake.

Yes. I use it with Wifi 6E hotspot hooked up with 2.5G and don't notice any latency. I have to assume that the hotspot radiation has thoroughly cooked my brain, because it seems like a decent monitor replacement with WiVRN.
>>721636148
No more visible screendoor, no fucking with lighthouses, good Linux support and it is wireless.
I'd consider it a significant step forward even if it is still clad in walled garden dickfuckery. It'd probably be much better if they had ever published open standards for their controllers, lighthouses and tracking, but refer back to walled garden dickfuckery for more information.

Currently playing the Half Life 2 VR mod. The fact that it WASN'T designed for VR is probably the best thing about the game. Enemies are aggressive and will quickly gun you down if you are exposed. Vehicle sections are fast as fuck, the camera shakes around, your vehicle can fly and flip over at 100mph. Alyx feels like the kiddy pool by comparison. It really makes you realize concerns about not alienating audiences with motion sickness and general disorientation hamstring the shit out of VR game design

Quest 3 is still the cut down standalone version isn’t it? Not that ITR1 is a good looking game regardless, but the PC version is definitely a lot better looking. Some of the stuff they had to cut, like dynamic shadows, added a lot to the atmosphere.

It is cut down, but honestly perfectly servicible, especially if you don't have a good pc, I do have a pretty decent PC but I like the convenience of playing the game for an hour or two, putting the thing on charge, then picking back up exactly where I left off when I stick it on my head. I think they made it kind of retarded. If you know where to look, there’s free guns everywhere, but the random loot is so unbelievably shit that it might not even be worth scavenging. More (most) games should come with a "VR mode" with a few ui adjustments in the settings, that just allows you to beam the screen into the headset and keep playing with a controller or kb/m rather than a dedicated VR version of the game. 3rd person games work incredibly in it and its a shame that there is so much shovelware slop that doesnt even do first person all that well. I feel like it would be a much easier way to introduce people into vr as a whole while allowing game devs to branch out a little easier into the space without having to go full in on a VR title. I know its a pipe dream and have no idea what that would actually entail, but i feel like it cant be THAT difficult considering shit like UEVR exists and works fairly well.
>>
>>721635879
I have a Quest 2, 3 and Index. The Quest 2 and 3 do track grip but the 2 is like a more primitive version of the 3's in that you've got paddle-hands, like 2 sets of fingers and a thumb. 3 has full support and is relatively sexy.

It is 100% CPU related, it's the same thing as the retards crying that Borderlands 4 won't run on their 3080 or 2080ti. They think that the graphics card dun make all the grafics in da 'puter screen.

Seriously, retards, upgrade your CPU. It is a gigantic bottleneck especially when it comes to VR.

I have no idea how any of this works, I think streaming from my pc since it would be better but then you'd need a cable connected right? I'd prefer full wireless
>>
>>721658063
Quest storage is not expandable, and I think that's true for the alternatives as well. It's okay to get the lowest storage option if you want to save money. If you plan to mostly use it for PCVR than the storage space does not matter. You can play PC wireless but you need to have a decent router.

you can stream wireless from your pc to a quest or pico 4 with virtual desktop. both have their own streaming software as well but I prefer VD. Just make sure you have wifi 5 or 6 (?)
>>
>>721658350
Wireless streaming works very well using virtualdesktop on any modern router. You preferably have your router very close to the headset and no other family member streaming squidgame in 4k over it while you're playing though.
>>
>>721658350
Quest 2-3 do wireless, though you need a modern router and sufficient internet speed, I have 800~/gbps and do not encounter any issues with frames dropping or disconnects but I am also right next to my router. Battery life can be anywhere from 2-4+ hours depending on the game, though you can purchase officially licensed battery packs to extend your time, you always have the option to plug your Oculus in using an Air Link cable and playing while it charges or even streaming via the cable if you connection is super shit. You need about 16-20 or so GB free to install the Meta Quest Link app that allows you to stream from your PC and use SteamVR/have access to a wider range of games.

>>
>>721659631
Index requires Display Port+USB C so if you're running a weird mobo or using a laptop you might not be able to pull it off. Quest 2 and beyond are USB-C data cables. Most Air Link cables are around 15ft so you get a pretty healthy amount of slack if you decide to plug in and play due to low battery/choppy connection.

I've only ever gotten sick once while playing when I was drinking and in that instance I was fighting another player on a constantly shifting and swaying platform with player body ragdolls. Didn't throw up but legitimately felt nauseous. I chalked it up to the alcohol though as I can play simracers, flight sims and all kinds of shit with no movement protection, vignetting, etc. Played Boneworks when it dropped on Steam for 6 hours straight my first time.

At the same time I've had people try my headset on when visiting and they can't even make it 2 minutes before they start to feel like they're going to hurl. People are weird!

Hello friends. I worked on my copy pasta, although I guess it's become much more than that now. It's made in a word doc, but I can't export it as an image unfortunately. Acrobat also doesn't work on my computer, although I'm not really sure if it would export as a single image like I'd want. I really don't want to recreate it in Photoshop, but it seems like that's where it's leading to. Yes, at some point I'll add a logo and shilling links. Anyways, here it is. I'd appreciate it if you tell me what you think.

>>
>>721669021
Is it candied ginger, as in, actual ginger? Maybe try taking a powdered ginger pill instead. Depending on the climate where you are, considering pointing a fan at your face. That also helped me. I can spend the whole day in VR now.

It was good before, not the best VR port but there was good enough interaction with the environment and some QoL updates helped it along. This is a huge list of improvements and includes Freelancer support which is pretty much the only good part of the trilogy.
>>
>>721669021
If you can push through to the 4 hour mark it'll go away, you just need a game good enough to give you the motivation, like Half Life Alyx was for most people when it was new
>ITS LITERALLY A NEW HALF LIFE GAME AND ITS IN VR OMG OMG OMG I HAVE BEEN WAITING OVER 10 YEARS FOR THIS
VRchat people sleep in the game, they can do 19 hour days in VR, you just need to find something captivating enough to make you want to keep playing

Candied, maybe the pill will work. I tried half a chewable of meclizine and I still feel whack now.

I do have a lot of stuff I want to play, it's just getting my body used to it. I tried jogging in place just now and that feels like it accelerated things badly. I already have, it's great but really needs more native features since using my KB+M kinda ruins it. It's not the same without manually aiming with my hands.
>What did you think of the ending to Alien Earth
Hate. As someone who thinks Alien Romulus is the 3rd best Alien movie Earth somehow managed to be the single worst Alien product ever, beyond even AVP2.

Of Lies and Ruin actually has a demo you can play, I thought it was decent and would have bought it while it was on it's "release sale" but the Index controls were fucking dogshit and made gripping stuff really hard

I tried but couldn't find the fucking gear setting to actually change that and the devs should have fucking solved it on their end in the first place

Stick to roomscale for the first 2 weeks. Never turn with the stick, just in case you do make sure its snap turn. Turn off vignette. If not a quest 3. Look with your whole head, NOT YOUR EYES. Quest 3 is the only exception to the rule due to the lenses. If you have a pc with even a shitty gpu, get virtual desktop or run remote desktop (free) to do flatscreen pc stuff. If even available 1080 you can run 3 super wides easily. Also dont sleep on 3d converting. Its literally the golden age for 3d videos (that you convert yourself)

Slightly better but almost no games take advantage of it since most users own a quest 2 and due to quest store rules it has to be the same apk or something. Problem with that headset is that such a small amount of people actually got there so there's only shill reviews and over enthusiast feedback so far and they're still delaying shipments of new units.
On top of that there's massive issues where some just overheat (140C), melt and die like wtf. Probably better to wait around christmas to see how everyone feel about it once it calmed down.

I got a 3s as my first real headset since PSVR1 and now I'm wishing I'd either gone for the regular Quest 3 or the PSVR2 because I didn't expect VR in general to be this much better and enjoyable after just a few years. Upgrading at this point won't make much sense, so I guess I'll deal with the limited FOV on the 3s while waiting for Deckard like everyone else.

The reason it never "took off" is because corporations tried way too hard to shill it as the next big thing and tried to make it grow inorganically. VR right now is in a good spot because all the greedy retards are fucking off and enthusiasts and hobbyists who actually care are supporting it.

in case i wasn't clear it's a game mechanic rather than an actual currency. it's not a pay to unlock crystals thing. the point of the game is you do like bdsm punishments and as a reward you get sex scenes. you have to do things like pose on all fours while the character whips you or something or sit and beg like a dog. some people might be into that but i thought it was boring.

And then it only gets even more dramatic once you unlock an equally ridiculous plane.

You could just youtube it. It's totally different if its arcade style or full combat sim. Just find out what a one circle and two circle fight is and pick the better one

im late to the party, but i have one. it was a pain in the cock to put together, i purchased the cheapest model i could, but since then i fucking love using it. ive lost over 50 pounds at this point and i run/walk around 4 miles a day. ive played through half life alyx with it, metro, and a ton of games that have vr modding. since the mod community is really keeping the scene alive.

even my friends who wanted to play no mans sky convinced me just because i knew i would walk while playing it. is the game mid? yes. do i walk around 5 to 8 miles per session playing it? also yes.

>VR JAV

Why are you not torrenting your VR JAV? Even if you don't care about the money or the need to use VPN's to even gain access to purchasing the content from JP sites, the DRM and mandatory player are dogshit.

I fucking hate that they show off all of these prototypes that never turn into products.
>>
>>721693148
its called research bro, this thing probably costs 10k mass produced and the model is worth millions the market isn't ready for this
>>
>>721693469
R&D is fine just don't show it off like it's a product. Write your goddamn white paper, file for your patents, whatever. But stop whipping it out for the press.

Any new VR mods lately that aren't UEVR?
>>
>>721693659
how else are they supposed to convince the public and investors vr isn't dead? this is the carrot on the stick that keeps vr fans coping and investors happy

There's actually nothing that exotic about it, just special lenses. It's not like verifocal that's forever vaporware

Koikatsu is pure jank unless you're a cuck watching a scene. I can't keep my dick hard having to swim to be in front of the character, can push her boob but not trigger the touching or licking animation, have to stop what im doing and toggle through a super small screen for controls, can't adjust character position so they clip when they fuck on a desk, can't adjust position to have them fuck in odd places, can't even control fucking speed or the control for locking the orgasm gauge, shit gets bugged sometimes and get soft locked while the girl never cums. Trying to emulate positions in real life has you clipping through the character while struggling to keep balance with odd postures.

There should be some AR kinda game where you can mod a character into a real doll you're fucking instead. Onas are kinda standard after all.
