was it good?
>>721638697I would rather play Dishonored again before playing DEHR. Some of the augmentation themes were interesting for their time, but the plot isn't that great. The setting is good and the art is great. The neo renascence fashion is worth buying/downloading an artbook. The gameplay is mediocre stealth if you play that way and the boss fights are a deal breaker they're so bad.
>>721638697no. vedditors will disagree, tho.
I never asked for it.
>>721638697Yes, though I wish it had at least one more large hub area.
>>721638697Well, shiieeet. If it ain’t the capn himself
>>721638697It's still good.
>>721638697yes
>>721640494
>>721638697Kinda corny, but sucks that it didn't get a sequel
>>721638697It was great, and so was Mankind Divided.
It was good for memes, passable stealth-shooter, but the story was pretty weak, filled with bad characters who didn't act like real people
>>721638697It was good for it's time, great by today's average.
>>721638697It was good but MD was better. My only real complaint with these games is that they didn't let you use a dedicated melee attack despite Adam having a fucking sword arm. Baffling decision.
>>721638697It was unfinished, what we did get was good Square Enix deserves to be destroyed for what they did
>>721640148People always complain about the boss battles but they're literally just the same four bosses from the original Deus Ex, the only difference is you aren't allowed to just walk past them.
>>721641124>>721640796Fuck i thought it was Mankind Divided, not HR since i barely looked at the thumbnailHR was pretty good even with the piss filterMissing Link was annoying and broke the pace, but the full game is fun and has a likeable cast (mostly the interactions between AAAAADAM and Pritchard, Sarif, Malik)
>>721641082Probably to stop you just bum rushing many of the combat encounters by hacking away and just chugging healing as needed.
>>721641197I mean, that is a significant design difference. The OG was great because there were tons of viable builds and alternate routes. DXHR, while good in its own right, is definitely a step back in this direction. I still liked it, but not as much as the first game.
>>721641614But you can do just that but with chugging batteries.
>>721641082Having to eat candy bars just to do stealth takedowns is one of the most retarded decisions ever added to a game with stealth as a primary mechanic
>>721642601I distinctly remember when I played the game yonks ago that the last energy pip slowly regenerated, so as long as I was a bit patient I never needed that stuff (and also an upgrade increasing max energy became largely meaningless)
>>721642852Yeah as long as you sit around and waste time when you shouldn’t have to, you don’t have to eat candy bars, when you shouldn’t have to wait at all. It’s stupid design no matter how you slice it because, like you said, the recharging final battery also makes the battery expansion upgrades useless. Theres also no functional reason to ever do a lethal takedown over a non lethal takedown since you get more experience for non lethal, as opposed to dishonored where non lethal animations take longer and create more sound. The level design is good enough for a stealth game but the way it handles actual stealth mechanics is just awful.
>>721643464I thought non-lethal had the risk of enemies being able to revive knocked-out ones, if I'm not confusing it with another game
>>721643464Its not uselessTitan Armor and Stealth Camo continuously consume energy, if you want to use those for longer than 4 seconds youll want to upgrade the max energy (but thats on MD)And im pretty sure if you want to go max combat and use melee takedown youll want more energy to use
>>721638697it was better than iw
>>721638697Playing hr. Why do the models look worse in game? Cutscenes are acceptable. All in all a big downgrade. The new augs are cool, but that's everything it has going for it.
>>721638697Ross Scott put it best: the characters all act like cringey anime tropes, the fashion is nonsensical, and the focus on augmentation themes over predicting the future age it poorly and make it seem much less ambitious.
>>721638697Yes. And anyone saying MD is better was likely born after 2000
>>721645815MD did a better job on that political commentary aspect, it actively shat on identitarian politics and activism, pretty much predicting the sham that was BLM (anyone with a brain knew it was a scam)
>>721641197You can after the update, people complaining about boss design only played 1.0.
>>721645815Is he right in his follow-up episode, where he guesses that storming the police station guns blazing instead of sneaking doesn't affect the story at all?
notice how most people claiming MD is good get their opinions from YouTubers
>>721638697It was the last of the 7/10 era of video games. Back when every other game was a 7/10 and was worth playing through once or twice.
