Why does it seem like this game is very underappreciated in 2025? This game is a masterpiece. Everybody that calls themselves a gamer owes it to themselves to play this game.
>>721640656>15fps movie shilled because it was on the playstation zoom
>>721641483Weebs will celebrate every shitty FOTM that’s animated at 15 FPS. Why is it bad when a video game does it and it gives the game some aesthetic style?
>>721641597>Why is it bad when a video game does itYou play video games, you dont watch them. It looks fine, it plays like shit
You won't be able to have a discussion about this on /v/ in 2025 because the only thing people do here is post double-layered ironic bait responses, in fact your very post could very well be that. Nobody in this thread will share their real opinion, the junkies will simply come here for (you)'s
>>721641663It plays great, you have what's called a skill issue.>>721641698I am 100% genuine with all of my posts.
>>721641483Worked on my machine
even as early as a few years ago I was arguing with idiots who complained that the game's open-world is empty, as if it was somehow trying to be a Ubisoft game but just couldn't reach those oh so lofty heights the state of gaming and gaming discourse is in the toilet. every year there's a new crop of idiots rising up, and each year more oldfags becomes jaded and give up on meaningful discussion
>>721640656Its a 10/10. One of very few. Great atmosphere, loved the boss designs, and the gameplay is solid. I wouldn't want to meet a retard who hates this game. Only thing that disappointed me was the final boss is probably the least fun/interesting boss. That one scene made me sadder than it should have. Very fun experience I won't forget, would play again if it were on PC.
>>721640656True that game kicked ass.Ps2 was the last good console from sony
shame that the one people will likely play now if they're trying it in the modern day are the shitty blue point versions with the shit grip
>>721640656It's boring
>>721641820where in the fuck is this footage from
>>721641663>it plays like shitIt really does not. And the game doesn't even need for fast reaction times anyways. Its a game about climbing gigantic creatures and striking at them slowly with your sword or sometimes your arrows. This isn't a twitch based action game.
>>721641698It is not bait I really do see this game as one of the all time greatest ever made. I wish that they never made that inferior remake and gave us a port of the proper original game.
>>721640656It's popular enough and now old enough to fall into that category of game where people like to make themselves feel better by going against the grain and say it was never good ect.
>>721642421There are quite a few cut bosses in the game files. Modders have managed to make footage of them.
>>721642887I know about the cut bosses and that there's some assets still available in the game. There is not enough to recreate Phoenix to this extent without headcanon though.
>>721641820I think something very bad has happened to gen Z. I can't say for sure obviously since there is no way I can know absolutely but it almost seems to me like they are abuse victims that have given up entirely on life itself since all semblance of a soul has been sucked right out of them. Even if some may think my thoughts are extremely exaggerated here they sure as hell come across this way is the thing. I think this may be an unfortunate consequence of being too spoiled beyond what you can even realistically enjoy. They have too much abundance with everything. So in turn they can't really enjoy anything because their dopamine got fried very early in life. It reminds me of this webm I saw of this chinese baby asleep but moving its hands like it was scrolling on a touch screen phone. Showing just how much damage all this easy access technology is doing even to infants. So basically, gen Z, gen alpha and beyond are cooked. We would need a reset at this point to hope things normalize again. I don't think its even possible for these people to truly enjoy any game and not take everything as a joke or to knee jerk react calling something shit.
>>721641852Agreed this really is a 10/10 game. Its not just subjectively so either, it is objectively a perfect game. It has no real flaw. Everything about it was so deliberately made to be the way that it was.
>>721640656Sony's greatest exclusive and its not even close. The cinematic loving, goyslop enjoyers that are modern age Sony fans can fuck right off with their Trans of Us 2 and God of So(y).
>>721640656And it's not just a narrative game, I appreciated the game-ness of it. Those bonus challenges you can do vs. each boss to get special items are not the sort of thing I expected to see.
>>721643123I'm Gen Z (2002) and I enjoyed Shadow of The Colossus on my PS2 as a kid just fine. It's the people who were raised with smartphones and tablets glued to their faces that got fucked. I didn't get one of those until 2015.
>>721645049>y2k baby raised one capeslop movies, weebshit and nintendo ds thinks his opinion matters
>>721640656>why does nobody like this boring and empty game? It's from the land of kawaii pinku bento boxes with multiple kotoba!
>>721645635Zoomers are degenerate internet and porn addicted troons. In comparison, gen alpha seems to embrace good moral values, conservative politics and reject woke media brainwashing like cartoons and anime, and they reject consumerism as well, preferring intellectual discussion amongst peers and to engage with each other even if its over the internet, instead of just buying legos and star wars and other jewish distractions.
>complaining about SotC being underappreciated when pic related existsCome on now
>>721646025>anime>wokeDumb tranny
>>721640656I've played the PS3 version and absolutely loved it. Played a bit of the PS2 version, and still haven't touched the PS4 version yet.
>>721646624Did they ever patch it for the PS5? I remember hearing it had terrible performance on the PS4 so they updated it to cap at 30, but don't know if they removed the update for PS5.
>>721640656>Empty field walking simulator
>>721641698my real opinion is that this is a good game, and i recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy a melancholic action adventure.that said, some fights were downright frustrating, and even though they were meant to be a puzzle, the "ah-hah!" moments often fell flaccid due to some jank hit detection.climbing some of the colossi were really fucking annoying.this game is a replayable 8/10
>>721645635Never held a Nintendo DS in my life, didn't watch an anime until well into high school. It's hard for a subhuman nigger like you to understand, I know, but not everyone from each generation is raised the same way.
>>721642421I got it from Ueda-san
>>721647519Played it on a launch PS4, can confirm the performance was horrid, like possibly worse than SotC on the PS2, hard to say. You can run it at a steady 30 on the PS4 Pro or the PS5. If you have a physical version of the game and don't update it, it will run at 60 on the PS5, but all of the later versions are locked to 30. But none of that really matters since you can just emulate it at 60 now anyways
the aesthetic and story (you mostly fill in yourself) is really all it has going for it now.The giant bosses are cool the first time you see them in a game, but are boring as fuck to actually fight. It feels shit to play.
>>721648101That looks like a HL2 Strider with double the legs.
>>721640656Because it wasn’t ported to PC.
How are the Ico and SotC remasters on ps3?
>>721640656I dunno about that but it is one of my favorite games of all time. Like everyone has that one game that completely changed the way they look at games. I remember Gabe Newell said that for him this was Super Mario 64, Hidetaka Miyazaki said that for him this was Ico, and so on. Every person has that one game. Shadow of the Colossus was that game for me, and I imagine a lot of other people. Both SotC and Ico are true milestone games if there ever was such a thing.
>>721649694solid, capped at 30FPS, but visually faithful
>>721640656the remake killed it
>>721649694Ico's fine, SotC is shit cus they fucked the grip
