Does anybody else feel like defence is kind of awful in this game? If you're drifting it's nearly impossible to counter tracking items and if the pack is too close together you get hit by items you can't even react to even with a defensive item. Ever since I hit A rank I'm really struggling to win races. Anybody A or above have any advice?

The item spam is gonna cut the playerbase so fast if it isn't addressed. I've had races where the I pop the shield to avoid weights or a glove but there's still so many more items and hitboxes on me they outlast the shield and I'm fucked no matter what.It's such a clusterfuck of effects and alarms and just being chain stunned at times it stops being fun after like 5 races.The anti-item gadgets don't even help because they're designed in a way that assumes you only got hit once. Quick recovery won't do anything if I'm being hit by 4 things in a row.

It’s great but the item distribution tends towards extreme attack spam bullshit towards the last lap, some of the items are insanely over tuned (slime, buzz saw) off roading completely halts you leaving no margin for error and costing races, and some of the gear customization is ridiculous (3 slots for recovery is basically mandatory). It needs a balance overhaul and some tweaks but it’s a great game yes.It’s fun for rapid racing and isn’t deeply complex but overall I prefer Mario Kart being more laid back. Even 24 players in Mario Kart doesn’t have as much ridiculous spam.
