This game lost a lot of momentum for me after beating Grandmother Silk, I was just doing all the sidequests and exploring for ages but still not act 3 trigger. I finally found enough fleas (and i always kept an eye out during the regular playthrough anyway so it was hell) to get the caravan to move again, but still no trigger. I thought you guys were exaggerating with how strong Wanderer is. Till I watched my friend play with it equipped. Wanderer, druid's tears and multibind. He is brute forcing through the game. The attack speed is so strong he is auto deflecting hits just by button mashing. Druid + multibind means for every 6 HP of damage he takes, he gets 4 back just from the tool combo. He doesn't learn boss mechanics, barely dodges attacks, it doesn't matter, all he has to do is try again if he gets damaged too much. >maybe he is just a good playerHe died 5 times to the 2 pairs of void enemies when you enter act 3 because he tried the only tactic that worked for him for the whole game, but this time he wasn't allowed to equip Wanderer. I don't blame him, he already admitted he read guides to find the strongest combo in the game. He started with Architect, but he wasn't smart enough for using tools. If he wants to cheat himself throughout the game, that's on him. I blame the devs for allowing Wanderer to be released in such a state while at the same time they nerf some of the easiest boss of the game for the sake of balance. Look at the Beast crest for example, has less DPS with the conditional bind buff compared to Wanderer constant DPS, but Beast was nerfed out of 2 blue slots.

ugh the witch moveset is so sick, I love the double hit on dash attack and the homing pogo is amazing plus it looks coolits too bad the heal is total ass. theres just no way thats going to be viable for boss fights where I have to get close to heal AND i only get one mask. sigh guess its back to hunter crest, theres always something I cant deal with it.

Risk is that you don't heal instantly, reward is that you get the nail damage bonus during the buff duration and you get your heal back through lifesteal. Wanderer has no risk, only rewards. Highest DPS of the game, highest silk regen even compared to Reaper with the buff active, highest survivability due to 3 blue slots and more parry frames per sec and faster stagger on bosses. Some would say the negative is the 1 less red tool slot, but using the strongest tools is a DPS loss compared to just button mashing the attack button.
Is there a reasonable way of fighting The Unraveled or am I really just supposed to hide in the top corner and tool spam? Jumping down and harpooning his back takes forever so that doesn't count.

You'll also often have to wait a bit for the couple of moves you know how to consistently heal against, and sometimes you'll be given opportunities in quick succession, so to stock up more silk the extra spool charm is also very useful. Its biggest weakness is that against bosses with fakeout deaths you'll occasionally get unlucky and only heal for 1 or 2 masks when the boss "dies".
