Make sure you drift off of ramps and hold it while doing tricks, and take turns tight which is easy on a board.Considering there's only boosts on, you shouldn't be falling behind at all. >>721780547There's a back and forth to it all which you aren't grasping. There's no one way to play. Change it up depending on how the race is going. A LOT is luck, but you can slightly influence stuff with what position you are in and knowing the race is filled with maniacs. You'll dodge a lot of drills if you hug the walls when one comes. Keep an item at all times for those gloves and slicers. Don't use boosts to try and rush back up after getting hit. Use that time to get your rings back, grab another item and use the boost on a shortcut. Things like that make everything more manageable.That last race in the museum we didI got lucky but still a bit of planning helped. I'd pulled a laser and magnet while in 8th, went to cap my rings so had no problem boosting past the bots, then sat in 3rd to avoid the chance of ghost/weights hitting me. That worked out because the ghost hit you instead, I got to zoom past and I had a laser/magnet for protection which guaranteed my win.
Am I crazy or do bonus characters just not show up in the AI player pool? I don't think I've seen Werehog, the Prime guys, or Miku show up in a game unless I am specifically playing as them.

This game is less random than Mario Kart because there isn't an instant shock item, the slime is dodgeable with so many items so you never need to take any risks, just hold forever. If you're losing a lot, just hold more defensive items items.
