And attempted to remove Wonder Woman from the equation too. But since she's the daughter of Zues things aren't so simple. The four villains with each artifact are Wondy's. Ares, Cheetah, Giganta, Dr. Psycho and there are other villains throughout each mission who offer power ups to the lasso, sword, invisible jet etc.
