Majora's Mask has been extremely over hyped recently in comparison to Ocarina and I don't really understand why.

>Side quests are mainly comprised of talking to NPCs and waiting. Barely any interesting gameplay involved with them with a few exceptions such as the dog race, fighting off bandits and aliens, the occasional mini dungeon
>Only four dungeons and the first two are overly easy.
>Horrible filler quest where you have to collect like twenty bugs
>Your reward for collecting all the masks is spoiling the final boss fight.
>Less replayable than Ocarina because of all the filler in-between dungeons.
I understand the disappointment some would've felt when this game released. Is it experimental and engaging? Yes. Does it hold the long term timeless replay of OOT? Not really

Replayability is a meme
>>
>>721864195
>OP can't multi-task
>OP doesn't admit that the first two dungeons are still better than the child and sub-dungeons from OOT, and the other two are better than every dungeon in OOT
>OP forgets that there are 100 filler bugs in OOT
>OP forgets that the reward for collecting all 100 filler bugs is infinite ruppees, well past the point when you'd ever need them
>OP thinks the gameplay in between the dungeons is filler because he's retarded

I can multitask. Multitasking in Majora's Mask is not a big issue once you learn to slow down time. I actually wish that the sense of danger from the moon was larger than it is in the game.

I'll concede that they are better than OOT's child dungeons. However, OOT's child dungeons were inoffensive due to how fast you could finish them. Majora's Mask carries tedious filler between each dungeon, making it a chore.

Stone Tower Temple is good. Whatever the water temple in Majora's Mask was called is not that good. The water temple in OOT was better.

OOT does not force you to collect the filler bugs to progress. Majora's Mask does with the Stone Tower Temple.

The gameplay in between the dungeons is filler. Yes the filler existed in OOT, but it was far less tedious. Having to talk to multiple characters, slowly follow a character underwater, do a tedious stealth section that is somehow worse than OOT's, and collect twenty bugs and an assortment of other items is not fun or engaging gameplay.

Majora's Mask is not a hard game. I did not have any issues beating it. Stone Tower Temple was the most challenging bit of the game, and I enjoyed it because the rest of the game is fairly easy to moderate. I do understand why Nintendo opted for easier dungeons due to the time limit.
>>
My ex fucking loved it. I never beat it but got close and know how to, just didn't care to. It was fun. I like the idea. It's basically Zelda roguelike. It holds up today for sure but you have to be in the mood for that style of Zelda.

What I personally don't like are the two latest mainline games. Breath of The Wild and Tears of The Kingdom. I don't want to fucking craft. I don't want this huge open world. I want Zelda. It just feels like every other open world action game now and I really don't like the direction they took.

>Whatever the water temple in Majora's Mask was called is not that good. The water temple in OOT was better.
Factually incorrect. Not only is Great Bay a better dungeon, it's also objectively a better water themed dungeon
>OOT does not force you to collect the filler bugs to progress. Majora's Mask does with the Stone Tower Temple.
Neither of the skultula houses are mandatory. One gets you the mask of truth, the other a wallet upgrade and a piece of heart.
>The gameplay in between the dungeons is filler
Incorrect. Also a lot of what you're describing is either flat out wrong or also in OOT.
The part where you follow the seahorse is lifted from OOT, the pirate stealth section is better than the gerudo one because you have the Stone Mask, as mentioned the bugs are not mandatory. The only truly egregious section is beneath the well and even that's not that bad
>>
>>721866496 you need
5 Magic Beans
10 Deku Nuts
10 Bombs
Fish
Milk
For the trading section before the Stone Tower Temple. That is by definition filler.
The pirate section is more tedious because it lasts longer.

>It's basically Zelda roguelike
Words mean nothing to you people, do they? You'll just say anything
>>
>>721868460
Except it's Zelda roguelike.
>>
did you ever get all the eggs?
>>
>>721864195
how long is this game?
>>
>>721869821
A week or two if you 100% without a guide.
>>
>>721869986
how much in total hours?
>>
>>721870034
idk, it depends on how long you take to figure out everyones schedule
you can speed run the game in a day though if you don't care about all the good stuff
>>
>>721870034
The main problem with this game is you can get stuck on certain puzzles so it can vary, but I'd say like 25 hours.
>>
Majora's Mask without the themes and oppressive atmosphere is just a bad game. Why is the content gated behind a schedule that forces repeatedly carrying out the same questlines.
>>
>>721864778
I don't remember Golden Skulltulas having some bullshit requirement where you have to be somewhere at some exact time on the same time run. I have the Player's Guide and for a lot of the sidequests it's something like:
>once the swamp waters are clear again, wear the N95 mask go behind the steak restaurant between 2 and 5 am and play Livin' La Vida Loca on the Ocarina to the monkey sitting there

Is is all zelda, metroid and mario
Tendies are tasteless cattle
>>
>>721864195
4 dungeons is few, but they're pretty big dungeons, with 2 sub bosses each, and there's a ton of areas and stuff to do between each dungeon, with some of it feeling like additional dungeons, like the Gerudo Fortress and Ikana Castle.
>>
>>721874842
The "fans" that love certain Zelda games and literally "hate" other ones for arbitrary reasons baffle me. At worst some of them just really disappoint me.
>>
>>721875706
you arent a real fan
>>
>>721874904
you can actually flurry rush gloom hands. though I personally like to find higher ground and carefully stab them with a spear like it's a survival horror.
>>
>>721864195
Its got this dark aura about it that permeates the whole game, its the only 3D zelda I like.
>>
>>721864195
>I don't really understand why
well for me it's the themes and atmosphere, the darker tone compared to ocarina of time.
>side quests
at least this game has side quests, ocarina in comparison doesn't have many at all.
>only four dungeons
yeah but each major region has its own pre-dungeon-scenario you have to deal with, like the pirates for example, so it more or less evens out, even though it's true that ocarina simply has more.
>filler quest where you collect bugs
don't know what you're talking about.
>fierce deity mask
you don't have to use it, but yes I suppose it's ultimately a useless mask otherwise. however, you can use it on other bosses at the start of a new cycle and clear all dungeons in a single day so there's some novelty in that I guess.
>less replayable
every game is infinitely replayable.

for me, the lowest low in majora's mask is the ikana canyon well fetch quest but you only really need blue potion and a powder keg and everything else is available inside the well so it's not like you have to go gallivanting all over the place to get it done.
>>
>>721867934
so you need to get the beans and the blue potion prior to going there, but everything else you can get while in the well. you can get deku nuts, deku sticks, bombs, fish, milk, hot spring water, and bugs inside the well.

>Majora's Mask is overated
All Zelda games are overrated. They have good moments, some are even great, but the series gets way more praise than it deserves. To this day it still blows my mind that Breath of the Wild is thought of so highly. To me, it felt like your typical open world game with underwhelming Zelda dungeons attached to it.
>>
>>721864195
I know this comes from Pikmin, but if you're waiting around for anything and not multi-tasking, that's a dandori issue. You can 100% the game in like 4 or 5 cycles. And no-one is forcing you to use the FD mask.
>>
>>721864195

You forgot

>90% of the masks are worthless beyond just getting a single heart piece
>some of them are completely worthless and don't get you anything

It's literally the best game of all time.
It elevated the simple concept of a kiddie game and turned it into a masterpiece with its setting, its premise and the way you interact with the world.
I'm sorry you're too much of a pussy to deal with a timer OP, I really do. But your time's up, go to bed now lil bro.
>>
>>721876779
>lowest low in majora's mask is the ikana canyon
It's the coolest region IMO besides Clock Town. So spoopy and full of mystery, not to mention it's an all original setting that doesn't rely on the Goron/Zora cliches.
