Again, not too far into the game so maybe that'll change.

The town is scarier than the otherworld which is where the problem lies, a clean japanese temple does not make for scary. Creepy sure but not scary. Maybe it’s terrifying to a japanese person idk.

If the town really does stay like it is, then what is the point of the transformation at all? Why not have the same things happen around town and there be subtle changes in the infrastructure and layout to mess with your mind/memory? Instead its like I'm playing Yume Nikki going to a new world.
