It feels like a lot is riding on the next mainline sonic game. The franchise isn’t typically able to keep a consistent level of quality for more than a few years and right now feels quite similar to the time before sonic lost world what with the last two sonic games being a generations title and a racing game.
there's nothing riding. they don't expect any billion seller success. it's more like they just make sonic games out of habbit
It doesn't matter. Whether people like it or not, whether it sells or not, is entirely independent of quality. Even if it bombs, the series will cling to life for another decade.
