What do you think was the most disturbing or scariest part of the game? This one was less scary overall

the sexy scarecrows

the scarecrows are the only real creepy thing in the entire game outside of some of the very minor surrealism (compared to the original games) in the dark shrines
>>
Running around the town on hard mode, struggling to survive knowing it only takes three hits to die, 2 if you get grabbed

how are they the only scary and only sexy thing in the entire game...
the other designs are cool but by no means scary. I don't think there is any way possible to make unreal engine shit have atmosphere like before

the problem is that first and foremost it's an action game so every enemy is something that can be rationalized and overcome with game mechanics. there's nothing here that's incomprehensible or alien, it's all just pretty standard generic horror game stuff.

I finally finished the game and obtained all endings

I'm starting to regret buying this game.
The parts where you are in the real world are great, but those fucking fox god levels are painful to play though.
They reminds me of DA:origins when you go into the demon world.

They’re almost all bad combat with little exploration and the occasional puzzle

I don't complain about hitstop in other games but it's got to be the most anti-horror mechanic of all time. It's basically a way to simulate the player having superhuman reflexes and eyesight
>>
>>721916130
they get a little more interesting on NG+ but yeah i'd recommend bumping the combat down to Story difficulty, you aren't locked out of anything and this game's ass combat doesn't really justify that level of dedication
>>
I don't think I can take this game seriously. Especially not when whenever a new monster gets introduced I think to myself
>Fuck, what if Hinako got turned into that
Especially the pregnant one and scarecrows
>>

it just ruins the flow when you're anticipating a slowdown that only occurs when the game decides you landed a hit, it's disorienting when the hit misses because of jank or because the input reading enemies all have quick attacks to knock you out of yours
