>do they even wanna fix it?
why would they?
Planned obsolesence exists so people buy more
buying more means more money for them
These satanic bastards don't care how full the landfills get or how much material gets wasted, all they care is for you to consoom and get excited for the next product
>>

well then, go back to using the HP mouse
>>

yep

i don't think they make them anymore :(

Like clockwork, they'll fail a month or so after the warranty runs out.
And with more technological advancements, soon we'll have devices that fail the very next day the warranty runs out.

They recently announced their new analog mouse switches. It might be fixed, finally. Maybe its good considering they quickly moved on from their hybrid opti-mechanical switches.
>>
>>722129083
There are a tiny percentage of mice that use the correct switches. The easier option is to just replace the switches with the correct ones yourself. There are 3 reasons all the companies use the wrong ones:
1. They're 3¢ cheaper
2. It let's them advertise 1 million click lifespan despite it not ever reaching that due to incorrect village
3. Planned obsolescence

Do you guys keep chimping out and slam the mouse against the wall all the time or something? Mine is still going strong. I primarily PC game with mouse and keyboard and I use it every damn day. It's got a small worn spot but nothing critical. Works just as good today as the day I got it.

I did this. My audiotechnica muff holder broke as well and they sent me a new one so I could repair it.
Fixing things is fun!

Good job completely ignoring the OP anon. This thread is about 99% of mice developing a double click due to all mice using the exact same switches which are run out of spec instead of the correct switches.
>>
>>722130336
it's cool you don't have to watch it, it's there for the ppl that wanna know why there's a problem, just know that it exists

It's always the same shit from the logitrash defense force, the exact same argument from 1st party controller defense force over stick drift
Kill yourself corporate bootlicking kike
>>
There are a few companies that have hotswappable switches in their mice that make putting the correct switches in easy at least.

So yes you chimp out and throw your shit around when you get capped in Fortnite then turn around and whine that your peripherals are broken?

Been having my G502 for over 7 years now, and I left-clicked over 20 million times during that time.

Undervolting the 15v switches to the millivolt range causes the copper contacts to develop peaks and voids that cause noise in the signal. High polling rates can cause this to start registering as double clicks. The speed at which this develops is entirely up to the luck of the draw. The simple solution is to use the 3¢ more expensive switches that have silver contacts that are designed to be run at that voltage.

I bought a logitech g403 back in like 2015 after a razer mouse I bought previously started developing a double click in less than a year of use. I finally retired it a few months ago to freshen up my peripherals and I needed something wireless. To my surprise logitech never made a true g403 replacement so i ended up buying a Chinese clone from a kickstarter because I the g403 grip size and shape is just perfect. Not sure it uses these switches though, probably a Chinese knockoff.

I bought 2 Zowie mice in like 2017. My first one finally became unusable last year, in 2024, so that's 7 years. It would double, triple, and sometimes even quadruple click or more on every button, so I just started using the 2nd one. I've got another 5 or more years of it probably.

Why is that video 1 hour long and what does it even say? Does it explain why mice start double clicking?

Oh no $100 every 3 years oh wait im not brazilian

well my old one lasted 12 years why would i buy one that dies in 3 years? + i live in africa lol, $100 for a mouse that dies in 3 years ? such nonsense why don't you buy every i phone while your at it
>>
>>722132963
I used Razer stuff a long time ago and things like clicking and scrolling would always start failing after about a year. I eventually switched to Zowie and my wired mouse is about 10 years old now and still has no issues. My wireless one is about 4 years old and still great too.
>>
>>722133602
cool cool but do they still make that particular Zowie?
>>
>>722133848
wow apparently they don't make the wired ones at all anymore. rip ec2-c
they still have wireless ones at least
>>
>>722129083
G502 lasts like 3 months, I stopped buying after the third one died.
>>
>>722134053
i have a feeling wireless will not pass the voltage test, so not gonna last
>>
>>722131634
>have a g502
>have been using it for 6 years with no problems
It had the double click issue at one point but being that i'm not a retarded crybaby I took 5 minutes and fixed it myself. Has been working fine ever since and that was 2 years ago. People are just fucking retarded when it comes to electronics and threads like this just prove it.
>>
>>722134169
people like you who didn't stop at 3 are why >>722133427 almost happened
>>
>>722133602
>I used Razer stuff a long time ago
I bought a Death Adder back when they were new for $80, and that was during recession and I was making minimum wage and in high school so that was a fucking fortune to me back then, and that shit started double clicking within 3 months, and within 6 months I switched back to whatever the fuck mouse came with my computer. That was literally my first and last Razer product ever.

>>722133848
>>722134053
Do they actually not make wired Zowie mice anymore? That really fucking sucks. I've never had a wireless mouse and I never plan to have a wireless mouse. I guess I need to ebay some NRFB Zowie mice within the next 5 years.
>>
>>722132963
Double clicking is caused by static buildup. You can easily fix it yourself by just slowly breathing into the mouse for a few minutes. I laugh at people when they say they just trash the mouse when it starts double clicking.

Can this fix Quadruple+ clicking as well?

I didn't ditch my other mouse, I still have it but I did switch to my backup because of it. I'd press middle mouse button to open a new tab and it would seriously sometimes open like 7 fucking tabs.

You know how you can set the rate of double clicking in the control panel? If you could also set a lower tolerance for what is registered as a click, you could fix the problem that way, but I was not successful in finding a program that would do such a thing.
>>
>>722134852
Nah razer switches had a known flaw which caused double clicking and I'd have to open the mouse up and readjust some copper contacts for it to work again temporarily till it failed again. Ended up opening it up once last time in an attempt to fix it again but threw it away before I could put it back together again. Bought a logitech and the rest is history.

I'm in the market for a new mouse and kb
Only requirements are thumb buttons for mouse and numpad for keyboard.
What does /v/ recommend?
