It's like a 3-4 second window on a track with a pretty easy to maintain level 4 drift, you can try to time the invincibility a little bit but if you attempt to maximize its value you'll just slow down significantly

from my 150h or so what i could tell is that "good builds" include the following
-something for speed (ie countercharge drift, technical drift etc)
-something either for tanking, or for ring retention: ultimate charge works, but i was a big big fan of quick recovery, although rn im on perfect charge bounty which is insane and gives you 9 rings per good drift, many people were on an air trick + air trick bounty package in the ont for that reason

or you could be a faggot and run a bagging build, of which the efficiency feels greatly exaggerated in these threads

does anyone actually change their builds around between races or do they stick to one plate alone

you could run Counter Drift, Drift Level 4, and Quick Drift 2/3 and hit Level 4s obnoxiously fast
though you can still just do that with the above - Counter Drift anyhow since the first Drift level doesn't really take long to begin with
it's a free Level 3 drift otherwise and with Quick Drift 2 you can pump 'em out lightning fast
less time drifting is more overall speed, depending on a few factors
