You have a metric fuck ton of team combinations you can make, so it should satisfy a lot of autism like if you want a certain line up or category of teams.

It also looks like you can instantly kill enemies on the field if you are stronger than them, which is nice for grinding and saves time. I also think the attack animations look good. They're flashy enough to look cool, but not overly stylized or drawn out to waste time each time you use it. I imagine stronger attacks have longer animations though. I also like how at the end of combat whoever deals the final blow gets a unique victory pose/animation, or at least it looks unique.

I don't get the appeal of digimon and the games. I liked the animes Adventure and zero 2, because I was invested in the cast and the story. I've not been able to gain any interest for any of the other digimon media, since it's different cast/characters.

The anime isn't even the primary canon, the Vpets came first, then came the manga and we even had games before the anime.

When I first turned on the demo, I wasn’t expecting much. I’m a fan and have gone through Sleuth and all that, I was just expecting another 3 star JRPG. But then the fucking Digimon town, and the voice lines during battle, and the story concepts, and the Metalgreymon cutscene, and all the callbacks to the DS games. I don’t know if the Digimon bias blinded me, but the demo was phenomenal. Like I was playing a demo for SMT Nocturne from Pizza but back in 2004 or something.
