It's possibly that you've some unofficial files that break it or since it's old shit it doesn't want to play nice with specific modern hardwares.I'd recommend purging everything unofficial. Prototype started life as a Spider-Man game made by the Hulk Ultimate Destruction team. For whatever reason, they went with a different studio to make Web Of Shadows instead. I'm curious what their Spidey game would have been like. And I'm sad they scrapped the coop mode they showed early on. But it's still one of my all time favorite games. Shame I can't get it working right now because I haven't done a playthrough since 2022
