The newest bosses are generally too tough on release for anyone except the no-lifers and whales to clear, so there's no reason to get to 290 for Baldrix. If you do still want to reach that level all you're getting from symbols is extra mesos, drop rate, and exp, which is meant for helping the grind to 300.
