You generally have 2 paths when you believe in something and are told you're wrong. Double down or accept a more compromised vision on your original belief. It is rare anyone does the latter and if they do it takes a long time. Nintendo fans have spent thousands of dollars on Nintendo products. At some point it becomes too late to turn around for most folks. This is the same for everything we do btw, so it's not even a slight on Nintendo fans. It's the reality for any group that invests in the product and/or culture around something.
