No. I like my PC's innards to be coated in hair and dust, and for my peripherals to be covered in a thin layer of skin cells, body oils, and semen. I call it "gamer patina."

I'm pretty sure my desktop is dying of being 10 years old, neglect, and shitty $60 msi moboBut I don't really know where to begin with getting a new one, and have been using my Steam Deck as my "main" PC a lot beyond having my several terabytes of old reaction images and backed up youtube vids from before the site went to complete shit on my desktop.

Good thermal paste doesn't dry out and it's thermal properties don't change in the time frame that most people clean out their PC's. Whoever told you to repaste every time you clean is a moron.

I used to clean it 2-3 times a year, but now I only do once a year, just check the temps, you should already know what's normal for your setting, so if with the same ambient temp shit gets hotter then there might be restricted airflow.The paste should work for years, in fact I only repaste when I change mobo/CPUs.
