You can see the night time during the bridge is much brighter than when they are on the boat. Zombies are amazing. They react slowly but immediately at the slightest sound or hint of the living with audible groans or moans, except when the plot needs something dramatic to happen then they turn into fucking ninjas that sneak over obstacles and jump out at the perfect time, or wait in silent ambush behind the flimsiest curtain. Their bites have wildly varying infection times, depending on the plot importance of the character or how much drama needs to be milked. They conveniently disappear for the exact length of time needed for some human conflict to occur, and then reappear as that gets resolved or stale to bring in tension.

Apparently being turned into a zombie also comes with an impeccable sense of dramatic timing.

We usually forget those exist, that happened because the writer was the usual tumblr writer that wants to write about lgbt shit in their stories, so seeing how Clem could swing both ways, she took the chance and wrote a gf for her who may or not be her self-insert. Kirkman comes from comics, so something he probably understands is that licensed comics based on existing IPs from a different medium are extremely low in the totem pole of relevance and canonicity, even lower that say, a direct to video movie. They are the kind of material that usually becomes non-canon whenever a new entry from its medium of origin gets released, in order to not give "extra homework" to fans and general audiences that only interact with the IP through its primary medium. Just look at the Star Wars EU that got nuked as soon as Disney bought the IP, a gazillion of works became non-canon because they needed room for the movies, or how even George Lucas himself would make books and comics non-canon just by making another movie and contradict whatever hired gun wrote to fill the time between releases.

I'm not losing my sleep over their canonicity, from what I've heard, the comics didn't sell well and Tillie Walden herself said that she never wants to work in anything video game related ever again due the negative reaction she got from fans.

The comics didn't appeal to anybody and it seems that everyone involved wants to move on and pretend they didn't happen, I don't see Kirkman as someone that will stubbornly cling to something that got so negatively received and did not generate a single buck.

This is 100% conjecture for my part but, I feel this is not the end because Walden said in interviews that Kirkman himself has plans for more TWD and barred her from using certain things from his comic (Carl Grimes, Negan, Michonne). What I can see happening is that eventually, something is made that finally combines his comic and the games, don't know what could be, maybe another comic from him, maybe another game just not in Telltale style or shit, even an animated series now that he's buddy buddy with Amazon, and those comics are there to fill time and make it so that Clem is free to join whatever upcoming project they have in mind, shoving them under the rug while doing some shit like "Clementine meets Negan". I feel like that's the endgame going forward for TWD: just combining these different branches of the franchise into a single one to bolster the IP. This might take a long while since he's more interested in Invincible at the moment.
