Is this game worth it?
The only digimon games I've played where the world ones on psx (too obtuse for me at the time, but still enjoyed them as I remember them) and the actual digital pet.
They just have never looked that polished, this one looks promising, though. How does it actually play?

Single Target honestly. Easily deals like 4-5k as a free hit. Though I could see the later buff that's like stats up + total immune for 1 turn being better when the extra damage stops solving white bar moves digimon set up for.

Not really, a lot of people call it SMT lite it's really not. Beyond being turn based everything else is different, type match ups work more like Pokemon with the secondary data/virus/vaccine acting like the fire emblem weapon triangle. Weakness and resistance for both is applied together too like dual typing in pokemon. So a virus mon using a fire attack on a nature data mon would do like 4x damage.
Evolution isn't determined by levels like in SMT or Pokemon either, you have to meet stat requirements and then Digivolve them yourself.
