SL for sure, sadly. But its basically a ponzi-scheme. There is a good amount of deprived females that are just kinksters but they'll only reply if you have a pimped avi (prolly 100-250$?). Afterwards you can have the choice between meeting up for free with 40+ burned out sluts or simping for 20-30s old hoes.

Basically you should only bother if you are mentally ill with disposable income and you want some faint chance to bag some even more mentally ill gamer/scene girl before she moves on.

Starting fresh, you're probably looking into the ballpark of ~L$10,000 ($40 US) for a furry and surprisingly even more for a non-animu humie, who has more difficulty crossing the uncanny valley than the North Korean border. This is considering in a modern mesh body, head, other assorted parts, textures for them, and clothes without falling for the no-mod jew. At least a good chunk of stuff is ultimately reusable, and if you go into niche fetish things - can definitely cut costs.

It encapsulates the RLV experience, so close enough.
>>
>>722326634
The shitty RLV experience you mean maybe. There's no reason to explore those shitty unsupervised "trapped" sims by yourself. RLV has two purposes, an immersion improver in ERP which requires an ERP partner, or making cool games or utilities and systems with its capabilities (like wardrobe editing, or escape rooms that prevent cheating) which obviously requires the game or whatever to be well designed

Sadly I've never actually found a ton of escape room sorts, the closest I often see something custom is usually when it's a means to reasonably deter people from cheating their mazes. There was one I found with annoying laser sensor dodging but some interesting use of physics manipulation to reach and navigate a secret area, kinda cute but that's it, and knowing the place's other theme, one could doubt most people interested in visiting even bothered. Most places are just shitloads of different 'furniture'.

JasX stuff is more or less a novelty but it's neat from a technical level. Of course at the end of the day it's meant to be a kink roleplay supplement, which absolutely goes either way.
>>
>>722328667
Man that bingo reminds me of Restrained Freedom isle. It has this cool as fuck asylum that got redone thrice now. It used to have a whole haunted abandoned section but now has jack shit. I also miss this one gay sim with is huge pyramid labirynth. I think the owner died or something so it died. Sad.

Not that many places that do horror+BDSM.
>>
>>722321907
SL has more stuff
VRchat is only worth it if you have VR
>>
>>722328667
Yeah it's not common afaik, deterring from maze cheating is also the type of stuff I was talking about though. I have also seen utility scripts, for example like I said wardrobe management is just so much more flexible using RLV than built-in viewer UI that it's not even funny.
>kinda cute but that's it
This describes an overwhelming amount of SL interactive stuff though in my experience. Even when the system is built to be really elaborate, it's still going to be laggy and janky enough that there's never a reason to pick some "SL game" to play over a real game made in a real engine. (Contrary to roblox for example, which I've never played but from what I know you can actually create worthwhile playable shit in it.)
As such everything in SL is ultimately mostly just cute and only useful for roleplay purposes, or "fun with friends".
>>
>>722321907
The platforms aren't really comparable. VRC is best with VR, everyone mostly uses voice chat (especially in VR), there's very little in-world content editing and in-world interactivity.
SL is a sandbox where you can create stuff directly in-world (including spawning shit from your inventory gmod-style, and built-in basic editing of simple 3D geometry) and have extensive scripting capabilities.

VRC is good if you wanna hang out with people and chat in vc while pretending to be furries. SL is good if you wanna hang out in a sandbox, without voice, in an environment heavily built by various random users throwing shit together and a gmoddy sandbox feel. People who hate voice and who don't have VR basically have no reason to switch to VRC.
>>
>>722309629
Permanently online troons
>>
>>722321907
VRC stuff needs custom rigged models and good luck with that unless you have time to spare. Because everything down to clothes has to be baked into your model. And rigged. And you want someone else to do it? That will be $2k+tibb. Sure VRC is fun to fuck around but it is such a sanitized experience it's crazy plus entry cost is much higher
>>

I went to that place not long ago, they had a peculiar adventure game segregated that was ostensibly updated this year, poking around a big house at the height of a mouse. Lots of walking but it was kind of cute.

>Not that many places that do horror+BDSM.

Reminds me, sometime ago a friend and I investigated a placed blatantly called HORROR RAPE ASYLUM and needless to say we were kind of underwhelmed. Most of the place was like, a space station and the ground had a racetrack, its asylum was just a tiny area.

Also, not sure how long it has been going for but findom types have especially taken up shop, shit's widespread. If you look up nearly any kink in searching places, you'll probably see a dime-a-dozen different parcels tagging every fetish under the sun and it's just like one or a couple of rooms with scripted furniture to siphon lindens from anyone retarded enough to fall for it.

>>722329587
Not one for dealing with tons of dialogue menus, but things like Whim's wardrobe and those places with web-based attachment selections understandably have their use cases. In-viewer selectors could definitely use something more modular.

>it's still going to be laggy and janky enough that there's never a reason to pick some "SL game" to play over a real game made in a real engine

Maybe the one thing I'll give them is if they fixate on your avatar(s) as some part of it, since that's probably one of SL's remaining strengths. BARE and Go Thongs have avatar stripping as a discernible mechanic, so there's at least novelty there. Failing that, it also has to compete with actual vidya like you said. But despite this, there might still be things like pic related, though I know plenty play GTFO, which seems to be a decent excuse to travel the actual mainland and not the shitload of ivory towers everyone's built.
>>
>>722330430
They have normal AVs, they play SL differently they don't want to be the giant robot but recreate it autistically. I suspect there's a shitload of middle aged Japanese women on SL too based on a lot of stuff they create.
>>
>>722330960
Sounds cool, yeah if anyone was going to push the limits of what you can create in the game it would be them.
I havent played SL for a few years now, maybe Ill come back when I hit middle age, could be fun again maybe.
>>
>>722330264
There's a perhaps surprising amount of insular communities in general. But it's really not too dissimilar to how discord is known for furry gooners and tranny groomers, but there's an immense amount of various completely insular discord servers which exist as a standalone community that some place on the internet created to have a place for real-time chat, and which has little to no relation to the rest of the chatrooms except from occasional members cross-pollinating from other places. And language barriers always massively help in creating segregation for shit like this.

>pic related
Yeah, I know there's a bunch of autistic shit like this, there's also combat stuff like SLMC, I've seen at least one pro wrestling league with fully scripted fighting move systems and tournaments and stuff, etc.
But again, the only point of all this is if you're already so invested in SL that you want to see "your second life self" do these things with other second life people you know, and just booting a game on steam or whatever doesn't fulfil that. It's basically never worth it for the gameplay alone.

>GTFO
Same deal here, I actually know some people who do this, but to me it basically looks like discount truck simulator except you get ejected from your vehicle on every sim corner. The novelty is kinda neat at first as you drive around the mainland and get to look at all the normie builds, including many absolute ghost builds from literal decades ago, but for me it quickly got boring and the thing is the mainland islands really aren't that big when you're driving at reasonable speeds. 99% of builds fall into some basic categories you'll have seen thousands of times, and the only reason driving across the mainland takes more than like 10-15 minutes is because each sim crossing lags you for several seconds.

the reason is basically the reason SL is even still alive today. 20 years of user created content.
why play SL over another game? because that other game doesn't offer so many niches instantly, in a multi-user full 3D environment.
basically, SL isn't going anywhere until ai generative tech takes off.
bare minimum, it will take a model trained on the human skeleton, that can spit out animations based on text prompts.
once we have that, SL's days are numbered.

>>
>>722334558
>Nothing wrong with encouraging people on the platform to actually do things, I guess.
Oh yeah absolutely.
The point I guess I intended to make is that SL's appeal is as a virtual world. If you judge almost anything in SL on its own merits, it generally falls flat compared to standalone options available elsewhere, hence the bit that started my replies of calling it
>kinda cute but that's it

But if you're invested in SL's virtual world and want to drive a truck in that virtual world, or play football in that world, etc. etc., then that's where all these systems shine. Not on their own, but simply because they exist in SL and lots of people enjoy SL as, to use the new corpospeak about it, an actual metaverse with a surprisingly vast amount of content.
