And at that point you would even probably do better with a group. So yes, technically you could solo stuff. But most people don't.

Some though like Warrior and Beastmaster can keep soloing as long as they aim towards mulching extreme volumes of lower leveled enemies with little downtime

I'm a bit interested in retail. I played horizon it was alright, but I just ran out of time I think I had just unlocked ninja so I don't even know if I could find a group there. The idea of running about that world again but with npc's grabing old items like the hairpin and shit does seem fun. I know it's sad to type because most people wish for very different things when they think of infinite time, but I wish I could take a year or two "free" in some limbo plane and genuinely play FFXI. I tried briefly with the Horizon private server and realised pretty quickly the time sink this game would be, and that I'd never be able to enjoy it because I'd always have this nagging feeling of wasting my time.
