All modern controllers are still based on this gay fucking design where you use your thumbs to press buttons and your eight other fingers literally do nothing but support the controller. Imagine how slow typing would be just using your thumbs. That's modern gaming in a nutshell. Games are boring and simple because the input device is designed for retarded babies
Pointing and middle fingers rest on the shoulder buttons and the triggers and there's now gamepads with back buttons that you can press with your ring finger but it's not that well supported, so calm yourself

Thumbsticks are even worse with how they create more travel time. I can't just click left to right. The whole stick has to travel from far left to far right

The fact that it's a raised and needs to physically be moved and reset is dumb. Directionality would be better served by a dpad with extra directions and pressure sensitivity
