All modern controllers are still based on this gay fucking design where you use your thumbs to press buttons and your eight other fingers literally do nothing but support the controller. Imagine how slow typing would be just using your thumbs. That's modern gaming in a nutshell. Games are boring and simple because the input device is designed for retarded babies
>>
Pointing and middle fingers rest on the shoulder buttons and the triggers and there's now gamepads with back buttons that you can press with your ring finger but it's not that well supported, so calm yourself

The Snes controller has two shoulder buttons though, you are definitely not pressing those with your thumbs.

Doesn't matter, I have 10 fingers, I should be able to make 2^10 input patterns simply by applying varying pressure. Instead I can't even look while jumping in a fps
>>
Thumbsticks are even worse with how they create more travel time. I can't just click left to right. The whole stick has to travel from far left to far right

>consolefaggots just now realizing their right thumb is split between (auto)aiming and pressing face buttons

You're right they should be basing them on this controller

Are you retarded sir
Thumbsticks give you much better control over your movement
How do you input "24 degrees to the right at a medium pace" using buttons

Not very well with thumbsticks. It's essentially a very short joystick controlled with the thumb. The fact that it's a raised and needs to physically be moved and reset is dumb. Directionality would be better served by a dpad with extra directions and pressure sensitivity

You just invented the 3DS nipple

nta, but yeah actually, the circle pad is the most comfortable analog input I've used. Sticks fucking suck.
