Why is she so popular?
>>722319482She's not.
>>722319482Purple.
I pity the jasfag or whoever made jas marriage mod. the writing is honestly so "mid", yet if you told this truthfully to that guy (at least who I assumed to be him) he would just yell back 'YOU JUST HATE LOLI!! because he's so used to people attacking his preference instead the actual quality of his mod.
>>722319482Some say she's cuteothers say she's funnyeither way she's W I F E
>>722319482child
>>722319551Jas, having her own marriage mod, is clearly more popular than Marnie, who's still stuck with Looking for Love, an all-in-one marriage mod for a bunch of different characters.
>>722319782>as opposed to the brilliant writing found in the original stardew valley, right?
>>722319482Silly OP. Looks like you posted a modded Jas portrait. You must've gotten it mixed up with the real Jas.>Why is she so popular?Jas is SV's token little girl with no personality beyond being a little girl and liking little girl things. Her complete lack of character lets people get creative with her in fan art and mods without it significantly clashing with her in-game characterisation. With just a couple tweaks, she becomes the perfect daughterwife for a lonely farmer.>>722319782>imagines someone acting irrationally>gets mad at his fabricated caricatureHow did you get so delusional? Just say you didn't like the writing, fag.
>>722323039>Just say you didn't like the writingno shit? why do you think I wrote mid? Your writing failed to expand jas' character in meaningful way but at the same time you didn't write her too out of character, and considering I played with shittons of other mods, that's honestly a compliment for me. Yours is probably slightly worse than even expanded's sophia, but still much better than something like most of east scarp's.
>>722319482It's a mystery.
>>722319482Literally the reason I played Stardew all those years ago and still play Stardew. Long live my grape wife.
>>722319782What are you even talking about, you weren't talking to the mod author. I've seen people attack jasanon he's chill about it. He posts his stuff here for anyone who'd like it and fucks off. He's making mods for himself not for validation.
>>722323628>worse than even expanded's sophiaIf you think that you don't understand why sophia is bad. You can think the writing is mid, but it not being out of character or unfitting for stardew alone puts it above sophia.
>>722324857Schizos with gigantic egos like him love to claim random anons replying to them are actually the target of their attacks, a very common phenomenon here.
Oh boy I love me some Jas.
>>722323628I'm not Jasanon, so your criticisms are falling on deaf ears I'm afraid.>Your writing failed to expand jas' character in meaningful wayThat's not what the mod set out to do, though. It was never a well-rounded character expansion; it's just an addon that lets you romance and marry Jas. This was written for the lolifag audience, after all. The most the mod does to characterise Jas is make her precocious and sexually curious while retaining her playfulness and childlike innocence. This turns her into an appealing loli, though not necessarily a deep or fleshed-out character. I'm sure you already knew this, but unless you really wanted to plow Jas, you wouldn't find much enjoyment out of the mod.
>>722319482Numbers don't lie
>>722325192Stardew has a very bizarre lack of r34 compared to how absolutely massive it is.
>>722323628>Your writing failed to expand jas' character in meaningful wayThat wasn't the point of it. Expanding Jas would be headcanon. The mod has thousands of lines of dialogue, it could have easily pulled things out of its ass to expand Jas in whatever way it wanted to. It could have tried to make shit up for her backstory, how her parents died, why Shane was made her godfather and whatever else and one of best things about it is that it didn't. It's just Jas. The biggest liberty taken is with her appearance, which I doubt anyone's particularly upset over. You're asking for one of the most annoying thing about a lot of Stardew mods.
>>722319482The girls of Stardew kind of suck so people wanted to bang the loli enough to install mods, not a shocker. Look at Rune Factory where the loli is an option without any mods, they're usually the most popular girl or close to it.
>>722323768anon... that is a child
>>722325554>asking for good writing is... LE BADseriously, why mod creators can implement something like dwarf fortress' mechanic into the game, but can't find someone good enough to write.
>>722323768I love that wax saw the jas portraits and went 'hmm... yes' and started pumping out art despite he has no interest in stardew
>>722319482Seeing the original Jas is always so weird to me.
>>722325876I don't want modders inserting their headcanon into established characters, it's one of the most annoying things about mods like Expanded or Ridgeside. That's not good writing, it's arrogance. Jas isn't meant to be some oc donut steel, she's an actual Stardew character. If people want to make her father an orange cat and conjure up some cringe sob story about her sad past they can make an add-on mod that I can avoid, don't force it into a mod I actually want to use.
>>722319482>Xisters!
>>722327029BAZ GO TO YOUR ROOM
>>722319482Never forget her mod was one of the most popular on nexus for a full year and got its own kotaku article before the fags took over. She was too powerful.
>>722325876>seriously, why mod creators can implement somethingWhy is it always the ESL retards that complain about "good writing"?
i like penny. i feel bad and marry her every damn time
>>722328017heh. same. she's sweet and, she's the closest to normal of all the bachelorettes i think
>>722324973>Unfitting for StardewIt's not that Sophia doesn't fit Stardew, it's that Sophia haters in particular need to feel their dislike of the character is justified and based on logical arguments. It's really weird and you don't see this often for other bachelorettes, modded or otherwise.
portrait mod recommendations?
>>722325741Out of 10!
>>722328298Sophia is so incredibly shit that even Flashshitter had to accept the criticism of his literal waifu and remove her cringe mannerisms like the stuttering as well as the vast majority of the OMGSORELATABLE anime references in her dialogue. Cope forever.
>>722328298She's a pretty flagrant mary sue waifu insert and written as such. That grates on some people. I've heard the modder made changes to her recently to possibly tone that down, but I kind of doubt it was anywhere near enough.
>>722325268To be fair, the portraits are fucking ugly.
>>722319482she's popular with subhuman brownoids
>>722328636Once again, nothing in your post indicates why the character "doesn't fit" Stardew.>remove her cringe mannerisms like the stuttering and anime referencesAnybody can easily check her dialogue and see that's not the case. She still has her anime references, she still does cosplay and she still stutters. It's not hard to find a changelog for the character either.>cope foreverAnon, you start screeching this exact sentence about anime references and stuttering any time someone points out you have a hateboner for that character. The only one coping here is you.

>>722329415>noooooo you don't get it my perfect pink depressed millionaire waifu is good even though her creator and single biggest waifufag had to go out of his way to make her less obnoxious!!!They pivoted so hard they even removed Sophia's "spoop day" line while keeping the similar one for Victor in, fucking kek.>"Sophia.MarriageDialogue.023": "It's spoop day!
