Remember the last day thread with the link that sent you to a random steam game? Well, I actually found something obscure I like.
Forsaker : DingDing&Blade is a VN, but it also has actual gameplay in the form of a roguelite system where you build a deck yada yada you know the drill with these games. The story, which focuses an the forsaker curse, can be told thru the perspective of many characters, and it also features I think an only story mode, where the dungeon aspect of the game is gone. For 10 bucks it's ok for what it gives.

A sekiro type of game, pretty fun. Found it on /agdg/ actually. its still in early access, dont know if anyone can try it, but i can invite 3 more people.

Disagreed. I find the look comfy, it reminds the game it was based on.
It could use more variety in ship models and the performance could be better, but otherwise I'm happy with it.

Steamdb ratings suck for low review counts, they shift them towards 50% until the count is high enough and they take into account reviews from keys received for free, which tend to be from shills.

I know this game has 600 reviews so technically it is disqualified but I'll shill it anyways.

It says traditional roguelike on the tin but basically the only thing it shares is procedural generation, no meta-progression, and turn based.
It is one of the best Wizard games I've played since you have a huge spellbook with numerous combinations and a skillbook to further combine or focus your build. Some examples.
>Ice build focusing on freezing enemies and having them take damage over time while frozen. Late game makes you able to freeze the entire realm with a power word.
>Slime build where you overwhelm the entire realm with slimes, then amalgamate them into a giga nigger slime
>Planting brain trees who shoot arcane bolts and spawn more saplings that become more trees, eventually covering the map in a forest
The game is fair but at the same time doesn't hold your hand one bit. Information is clear but you can still jump into a realm that you can't win if you don't pay attention. Immunities, slimes, etc.

Once you get the hang of it you have archmage trials for that extra difficulty edge. Played about 100+ hours doing all the trials. Heavily recommend it.
>>
>>722328807
I played 1 for 30~ hours and found it very frustrating and rng heavy. you had specific good builds and a lot of bad ones. winning was knowledge gated and rng gated, by getting enough good shrines (for your stuff) to get a run going.
Is it better than 1 in this respect?

You play as a cute battle-crazed amnesiac robot girl whose goal is to beat the current robot battle champion. Each day you go into the town, encounter events and people, and acquire better body parts & equipments to win the next tournament. The story & the characters are fun and I enjoy it.
>>
>>722328958
You can still get fucked if you truly get nothing but crap for items but I honestly didn't feel like my deaths were because I didn't get good enough gear but rather because I decided to attempt a realm my build couldn't deal with.
There is also a knowledge check aspect to it in the sense that you don't know how effective certain spell combinations or schools are before you get into it. But I'd chalk it up to a natural degree of needing to learn rather than an excessive.
I for example got my first victory without ever using the skillbook because I was retarded and didn't know it existed. Playing without the skillbook is an archmage trial in of its own.

There are definitely builds that are far better than others, like electromancer. But I've done successful runs with a lot of schools since the archmage trials consists of school-specific trials.

Platformer with speedy movement and a versatile projectile ricochet mechanic. Pretty short if you just want to run through the levels and stop at credits, pretty long if you engage in optional sidequests, puzzles, and secrets.
Don't get invested in the plot, everything ends in cliffhangers and sequel bait.
