Nobody even knows how discord makes any fucking money. It operated at an enormous loss for years, surviving on grants somehow. Feds probably use it to make school shooters or something, or they use it to psychologically experiment on losers with no friends. I have absolutely no idea.

im 27 and when i was in highschool and even before that, ts was the norm. im a thirdworlder and due to isp shenanigans hosting a ts server was mostly paid, very few people had the fancy internet required to be able to port forward themselves (CGNAT, dont ask). i faintly recall the interface being absolute cancer but maybe i was just a dumb kid and didnt remember it rightthen we moved to skype. skype was considerably better because it was free, but man was it laggy and buggy as fuck, tons of crashes and freezes everywhere, for everyonethen we moved on to discord. and idk what 4chan's issue with discord is at all. the devs are good boys that will nuke your server if someone reports it but thats the catch, IF someone reports it. im in a server rn with a bunch of edgelords and gore/cp/bestiality flies left and right as means of shock content and have been in there for years, zero bans because we dont invite strangers and therefore no one reports it, ever. voices are crystal clear, their codec is good and my ping to the sao paulo server is 4ms. can send images, can send videos, can call anyone whenever and all that is freehow exactly is teamspeak or raidcall meant to compete?

I'm using discord since it started and I'm like on 3 server with my friends from different games thats allAnd I hear people are usually on like 20+ serversI only use it to be in touch with my old Runescape / WoW buddies and nothing else.
