So what was this game final message?
>>722332013Agility makes you God
>>722332013Political assassinations work if you kill enough peopleDon't let your church be invaded by literal demonsHave someone else to place the blame on
>>722332013I don't know but reading the steam forums they don't seem to know either, these people are honestly insane, I won't believe for a second that they played the game 30 years ago as well.
>>722332013Ramza: Be a better man (but actually done right) Delita: The road to hell is paved with good intentions
>>722332013That you can be a hero even if cost you everything.I wonder what would happened if the roles were reversed with Tierra and Alma?
>>722332013Nothing
>>722332013If you promise your girlfriend you will not abuse her as a political pawn for the benefit of others, don't do that and then also forget to mention you didn't actually kill all of her friends/her knight protector, or she might try to stab you.
>>722332013That not being stabbed and hated and feared by everyone around you is better than going down in the history books as a hero
It's a shame that we never going to see or fight the other Zodiarks
>>722332013Class warfare
>>722332013It's GoT before GoT.
>>722332013You get what you fight for in the end.
he chose the path of the hero, paved with lies and deceit. all he was left with was the role but burned every true relationship he ever had. he discarded his nobility for nobility. ramza however fought in the shadows, the true threat to the world which ended up destroying his family name. however, he earned something beyond the title and rode off into obscurity willingly, trading his nobility for nobility.
>>722332013if you kill jesus and ignore political drama you get to bang your sister.
>>722332013That crystals are cool
>>722338763The choices Ramza and Delita made was always one of the most compelling things in the game along with everyone else who had sisters and chose accordingly, whether right or wrong.
>>722332013history is written by satan
Brown people (like Delita) should know their place.
>>722332013Is it worth to compromise your ideals for what you think would be winning?Would you become a back stabber of your friend in order to marry his loved one or take away his job promotion? The game says yes and no to a certain degree. There's no straight answer. Delita achieved what he wanted, but he had to sacrifice himself. Ramza also got what he wanted but he had to sacrifice himself as well.
>>722339557That's what makes this game so good. War is brutal and there's rarely a clear winner, much less anyone who emerges with an intact conscience.
I'm glad a new generation got to play this excellent game. As for this final message? Well...God is real but doesn't care.andThe survivors write the history. Did Delita do things right?
>>722339557>Ramza also got what he wanted but he had to sacrifice himself as well.He literally sacrificed everyone unless Squeenix confirms the others also made it out alive from the final fight with Ultima.
>>722340278Pretty sure matsuno said that everyone got out alive but branded as heretics.
Delita was a really bad schemer.AlsoGALAXY STOP!
>>722340489Afaik he only comfirmed Ramza and Alma, because there was a schizo theory that Olan just hallucinated seeing them both at the end. Kind of shitty of Ramza letting Olan burn in the stake for telling his story.
>>722332013He was right.
Is it weird if I actually sympathize with Argath after hearing his voice acting? He's still an asshole but the sheer desperation in his voice paints a clearer picture of him being just as much a cornered rat as the Corpse Brigade, and in lacking love or companionship he shoves everyone but the useful away.>>722340838There was nothing more Ramza could do because he burned any chance of staying in Ivalice, and if at anything Ramza is the biggest 'winner' in this game of losers precisely as he learned that there's a limit to what people can do. Ultimately Orran and Ovelia chose to do what they did.
>>722340838I don't know if Is a squizo theory but everyone surviving it makes no sense.
>>722341002>Ramza is the biggest 'winner' in this game of losers precisely as he learned that there's a limit to what people can doHe beats up a demi god at the end. What do you mean?
>>722341223>Kind of shitty of Ramza letting Olan burn in the stake for telling his story.That. He beat up a demigod but he still had to leave Ivalice forever.
>>722341002>He's still an asshole but the sheer desperation in his voice paints a clearer picture of him being just as much a cornered rat as the Corpse Brigadehes just an asskisser of the wealthy
Weigraf 2 was utter bullshit that made me rehaul my team but I am loving tactician with the changesNinja are less godly (and I am finding putting DW on sturdier classes is serving me better) so I am using stuff like this thiefgoon (who will do more damage when his lance isn't like 8 levels old) and more protecting spells. Dancer is a godsend in most battles, and mine is a black mage for when big aoe opportunities open up I used calculator for a bit and while it's still really good, a black mage casting flare itself with the same gear (and assuming calculator is also a BM main) seems to do like 40-50% more damage, so there's a good reason to use them and summoners still.
>>722341328Because he's a pussy? With the main leaders of the church including the arch bishop dead, there was no better time to just get rid of it. Assuming everyone or at least the most important people made it out alive from the fight, the church wouldn't had been able to do anything to Ramza.
>>722340986>>722341002I never understood how this guy manages to get in Zalbaag’s graces between kicking him out of your party and the last battle of chapter 1
>>722341369Ah, but consider: Argath is a noble too yet he has to beg for scraps. In fact it feels to me like Argath and Milleuda direct their seethe at commoners and nobles respectively because they refuse to accept their lot in life: Why should *I* live like this because of you?
>>722341524hes an asskissernot so different from delita
How difficult is tactician? I haven't played FFT since I was in highschool like 2 decades ago so I don't really know if I remember mechanics super well
>>722341523Well they still had enough people to paint all of them as super satan and everybody believed it.
>>722341760That monk pussy is top tier. ...We need a tierlist of female FFT jobs. Summoner is bottom tier. She gets double teamed by her summons.
>>722332013Self-betrayal sucks, you should stick up to your ideals and beliefs no matter how bad your circumstances are.Ramza was a noble, Delita was a commoner. Both believed in justice, caring about their family and living true to their own heart - the very concepts Barbaneth teached to both of them. Then Argath kicks in and shows that Barbaneth was a rare exception (like Cid, another noble oldfag) and nobility is full of faggots (even Ramza's half-brothers) who don't give a shit about commoners like Tietra. Both take this hit differently.Ramza STILL believes in his father's teachings and discards his nobility by basically becoming a commoner (and later on a heretic) while still caring about his family (his sister Alma, Zalbaag to a lesser extent), doing what is right and not tolerating injustice. He doesn't sacrifice anything important by the end of the game (boo-hoo muh nobility) and saves the country and his family (he tried his best with Zalbaag) while not sacrificing his ideals and beliefs.Delita goes "fuck this shit, you can't win in life with these rules as a commoner, so I'm gonna change them and the end justifies all kind of ugly means I'm gonna use" and turns into the very thing he always hated - a lying and back-stabbing noble who abuses his power (and he goes as far as to backstab EVERYONE while becoming a king to change the rules for commoners). His other issue is that he tried to project his dead sister onto Ovelia (a pseudo-noble who is actually a no-name commoner) and then he just kills her when she stabs him for being a piece of shit no better than, say, Argath, and at that point Delita realizes that Ovelia isn't Tietra so he doesn't really care about her and he basically got nothing else in life by sacrificing his ideals for the sake of "end justifies the means".
>>722340489>>722340838Matsuno wrote a canon "post-game" event for the Lord of Vermillion III crossover. Ramza and his crew ending up in Ordallia helping the resistance movement against an oppressive regime there. https://x.com/YasumiMatsuno/status/446091811052724224
>Olan: For that, you're going to take advantage of everything?>Delita: Is that wrong? That's all he did, and that's why he got what he got.
>>722341594Enemies take less damage while you take more. That's it.So far, it's encouraged me to use heavy armor, status effects and buffs/debuffs more. Spacing is more important, as are charge times, and the previous strategy of just bumrushing the enemy is harder to pull off.Basically, you have to treat every enemy as a miniboss and respect what they can do, but you can still make overpowered builds if you know the game well enough.
>>722342834and more HP. The combo of both doing less damage and them having more HP means that you can't really play Rocket Tag as easily as before (deleting enemies with ninjas and calc before they get to go meaning you need zero defense)
>>722342571well i'll be damned
>>722342571That fucker need to write another Ogre Battle/Tactics Ogre after the events of OB64 or a new FFT.I always wanted game with the setting of the FFTA2 but with the plot of FFT
>>722343274No game no canon
>>722332013is this game political left or right?
>>722343580Nigger
>>722340838Given the context and the situation they were in, I don't see how that was a schizo theory. But seeing how it's confirmed they live, I'm okay with that.
>>722342520I don't agree at all that Delita doesn't care about Ovelia. He DOES care about her, but she's seen and experienced how manipulative he is to the point that she can never trust him. That's the completion of his tragic arc, he obtained vengeance, his ideals, and glory but he lost love and humanity.
>>722343274@yasumimatsunoIt was hilarious seeing him fighting against the spics on twitter. Then every other spics banded together to gaslight him into submission. The fandom are never on your side, dead of an author will always be the predominant canon, and you are just dumym for the retarded masses to lash their frustration on you.
>>722343580there's literally a subreddit for commiegamer and FFT is the mascot of the sub.
>dead of an author
>>722343580neither
>>722342571Well at least that would explain why he couldn't help Olan. Would be fucking awesome to get a direct sequel of how they took down the church after Olan was killed.
>>722343872It's even worse, some days ago those fuckers were yelling at him because the game didn"t have a spanish translation at the point he was going to block them because that kind of issue was out of his league.
>>722344065Olan's biggest mistake was literally compiling this book that talks about how the church is fake and worshipping demons and are the cause of the last hundred years of war and then going to the church, showing them the book and asking them to publish it officially. I also wonder if he did meet up again with Ramza at some point before he did that and that's how he was able to record the stuff only Ramza and his crew would know.
>>722344440He might have, since the ending now talks about how they'll share that story.
>>722343380A2 was pretty good, and I'm an old fan of original FFT.I would like a brand new Tactics game in Ivalice and NO, not recreating FF12 or some shit. Hell they could use FF11. The assets exist.
>>722343857The other end of this to me is that it's maybe the only real personal agency that Ovelia ever truly shows. So much of the plot is spent bickering over her and attempting to kill her for reasons she never asked for and can't really do anything about but run from it. It's her attempt to finally take back control of her own life from the man who, from her pov, quite literally stole it away from her.
>>722343580>Church is bad>Nobility is bad>war is always bad and nobody winsI have never seen those messages in any right wing game. The only pro-right wing message I can think of is to love your family and honor them, but the game also beat you over the head with how the Beolouve family is rotten due to Dycedarg and how he ruined it all so its not even a pro-family message.Feels like "everything is bad but right wing ideals are double bad" is the only take-away. Like left wing back pill.
>>722332013History is a bitch and rarely gets everything right.>Ramza is remembered as a bastard heretic that murdered his brother and spit on his father's bloodline>Delita is remembered as the glorious peasant King that brought peace to a crumbling country>Ramza actually stopped the end of the world>Delita was a manipulative back stabber that was only loved by those that didn't actually know him
>>722344065>>722344440I think dismissing the church as evil is missing the point. The taurus stone does save that girl's life, after all.The church got subverted by devil worshipers that used it as a political tool to advanced their own nefarious plans, but that doesn't mean their inherent teachings were wrong. It's just evil people being in positions of power to further their own goals. You see with the nobles, the church and even with the rebels with how quickly death corps dudes just change their tune to support new masters. Humans were the real monsters all along...
>>722343857>I don't agree at all that Delita doesn't care about Ovelia.Anon, he fucking kills her after she stabs him (and yes, blah blah, in one tweet Matsuno says that "Ovelia survived that stab and died only much later FOR OTHER reasons" but he changes his mind about random shit every year or two and in another tweet he claimed that "Delita totally survived, but Ovelia...").If he truly loved her he'd give her a pass at this point (unless he prioritize stability of country over dying and letting Ovelia live, which he does - look no further than him not asking Church to pardon Ramza because then the truth about Church might leak and that means more conflicts, and Delita wanted none of it after 50+ years of conflict). Delita loved only one person in his life, and that's his sister. I dunno, maybe he's that much of a siscon that he wanted to fuck Tietra and thus projected her onto Ovelia, but he didn't hesitate at all to stab her back. I don't think this is love.
>>722343380We are never getting a new chapter of the OG Saga, anon. Better enjoy Unicorn Overlord and Symphony of War.
>>722345138I fully agree with you, people saying the message was anywhere as simple as 'Church is le bad' and 'Nobility are le bad' are at best shedding personal accountability.
>>722345138Pretty much this. You can even see an example of this when Rafa revives Malak with the zodiac stone or how Wiegraf fullfil his corruption with the stone due to his malice.
>>722344886it hates religion, it's perfect for commies lefties.
>>722345246I know anon...I know It just that I really want another chapters because the setting is amazing.
>>722345241How would he know Ramza is still alive if they never saw each other agan and he ran away to another country to help orphans?
>>722345241If it's love it's deeply twisted, the product of a wounded heart that's yet to mend.
>>722333051>Don't let your church be invaded by literal demonsBut they said they're emissaries of god. Demons would NEVER say that!
>>722345138The game goes out of it's way to say that the church is evil. Even at it's start Ajora was either possessed by Ultima or was a shell used by her and at the end his title is False Saint. Everyone in the upper echelon is corrupt or a literal demon and they wanted to use the War of the Lions to weaken their rivals and sieze power for themselves. The Zodiac Stones themselves aren't evil, but they were likely used to seal the Lucavi within or something similar.
>>722345906Anon, there's a big difference between 'the Church is evil' and 'Anything can and will be co-opted by man seeking for what he desires'.
is fft the best written japanese game?
>>722332013I love this era. In gundam wing, Treize Kushrenada's point was also "war without principles is pointless". Ultimately if you drop your ethics and morality you're left with nothing in the end.
This>>722345105And you>>722344886Are a worthless double-nigger who would have the U.S. worship unemployed brown people.
>>722345906There's nothing inherently evil about seizing power, the church would likely be much more effective at maintaining stability than a lord that'll get stabbed in the back as soon as they piss off the wrong noble.
>hey, remember that war we had for 50 years?>yeah, we still have to deal with the peasant revolts and bad crops>how about we do another war, a war that is much better than the last one?Brooooo fat fuuuuuck
>>722346008>Anything can and will be co-opted by man seeking for what he desires>Church created by a literal False Saint puppeted by the lead demon. I wouldn't call that 'man's desires.'
>>722341223Killing a demi-god is way easier than fixing a corrupt government.
>>722346146hey they did it for WW2 lmao
>>722346168I consider it mutual, in that these demons wouldn't be able to do so if people were corruptible and allowed demons to take them. If the point Matsuno wanted to make was simply about nobility and the Church being bad he wouldn't have made Delita a king who lost everything, nor would Simon be a good man; rather, we must reflect on why said things are bad.
>>722346146Well you can't say the same didn't happen in real life too.
>>722345906I have to agree because the game itself narratively does not do anything to reinforce any sort of positivities from the church, it furthers double down its sin in the post credit with it burning Olan up to shut out the truth. Yeah ok every one know that NOT ALL RELIGION ARE EVIL, but let's be for real, most FF games paint the church in a bad light at this point it's not even a moral dilemma anymore. It fine to admit churches deserve to be taxed.
>>722332013Life is short! Bury it!
>>722346469>It fine to admit churches deserve to be taxed. Then they get representation in government and push for harder censorship and elect priest kings into presidency. That's literally their end goal.
>>722332013i played this on the PSP in middle school.am i retarded if i didnt know that i could change my main characters class? he was a squire the whole game. also i dont remember the story at all, i worry that im one of those half illiterate retardsanyone else? or just me?
30 years later and Christcucks still seethe. Weird that they see themselves in this fiction at all, but it's very telling.
>>722346371Except the demons don't allow just anyone to take them, it takes specific people who resonate with them and you can fight against it, but all that does is seperate you from the demon. It still exists to cast Ultima 2 at you. It's literally a false church with a false saint that was built on lies and worships demons as a front for their activities and to gain control.
>>722346717I think it's kind of telling when a jrpg demonstrates a FALSE god antagonist pretending he's the real thing and a Christian's kneejerk reaction is to feel offended that christianity is being attacked.
Church bad
>>722343580I would say neither but others will diagree because modern political discourse has Monarchist and greek republicanism both marked as "right wing". It critiques nobility and the issues of commoners being forced to pay for the nobility's mistakes. It also comments on the church as both a stabilizing force for the commoners while also being a tool to maintain a status quo.The key theme is history. The church's history is wrong and was manipulated to create a specific narrative. The war of the lions is just another moment of history being used to create a story. The Hero King Delita brings an end to the chaos of post war Ivalice by gutting the nobility and easing the lives of commoners. But in reality that too is just a story to pacify the masses because a hero king sounds better and keeps things more peaceful than the backstabber gutter trash peasant that killed all his friends.
>>722332013you have to accumulate a lot of turns and then teleport behind your enemies and double unarmed attack them
>>722344886>Church is bad (because it’s literally hijacked by actual demons that most people aren’t aware of)Hmm
>>722346717>>722346875I've always taken it as a warning to be aware of false saints and demons who take the skin of god and attempt to lead you to sin.
>>722346875which is funny is I don't even think 90% of them even know what happened at Nicaea.
>>722346469Simon helped the party out and gave Ramza the Germonique Scriptures. Other than a throwaway line about gods, it's pretty explicitly based on normal christianity so it can be assumed that it functions similarly to the normal catholic church, with the scheming and power plays inherent to any structure in a position of power. The monastery is also a library which is obviously good and important for literacy and record-keeping. The fact that they sealed the Durai papers instead of burning them shows the church has at least some concern for the truth.
heh, delita killed milleuda while ramza was jumping so he was talking from space here
Ramza, the blood-soaked heretic, the killer, who has walked out of more empty castles than can be remembered leaving behind nothing but the stench of corpses and the wailing of the wind, his name written off all records but that infamy, is doomed to be forgotten for five hundred years after having become an object of fear and hatred in his lifetime. He, who was in truth the hero who slew the demons manipulating Ivalice from behind the scenes, who saved the kingdom from the return of its false saint, from the Angel of Blood whose coming had once brought down civilization, he gets to walk into the sunset with his sister, to find a new life somewhere else, presumably followed by the friends and allies he made along his journey.King Delita, the hero in armor of gold, the savior of Ivalice, the commonborn soldier who rose to knighthood and nobility, who married the princess and ushered in an era of peace and prosperity for the kingdom, is written into history as one of the great names of Ivalice, a Knight Devout, anointed by the Church in honor and glory. He, manipulator, schemer, assassin, survives everyone he ever knew and had reason to care about. Ramza, his childhood friend, presumed dead on some quest nobody knows anything of. Valmafra, fleeing into the night to find some life far away. Orran, whose loyalty he gained with careful demonstrations, dead on the Church's stake. All who had once trusted him are dead, and he had already planned to betray them besides; and now his own wife lies lifeless among the scattered petals of the flowers he'd thought to gift her for her birthday.Delita will go down in history as a noble, brave and kindly king, perhaps struck by his wife in a bout of madness, but he will always be there, in the ruins of that chapel, clutching his breast where the dagger drew his blood, looking to the stars and asking Ramza if he got all that he wanted, all that he deserved. But there will be no answer. We are the sum of our deeds, not our names.
>>722347285based leapGOD
>>722347215Same. Don't just blindly trust someone telling you to worship. True faith doesn't come from worship to begin with.
>>722347285based Ramza defying physics
>the leading demon is Alma’s body but with her ass hanging outwhat are the implications here
Knights are now good because they don't fold over in one hit from enemy knights who do 150 a swing
I really wonder how you are supposed to beat wigraf on tactical without cheese. That fucker rocks 11 speed and hits for 200 unblockable unavoidable damage.I'm just short of putting him in critical hp with ninja attacks in the back and I would probably get super raped in the fights after anyway.Guess there is no way around it.
Even if Ramza defeated the true masters of the church he would be stopped by the political gang one way or another and the same with Delita. So the two of them saved Ivalice even if one of them forgotten from the records.
>>722347437I thought that Knights were always a sleeper class because Knight Swords are really strong as fuck
>>722347420Fuck your sisters butt
>>722347453The old method of running around the room shouting and accellerating until you get 50 turns to his one and can just bap him to death, worked in the PSX and WotL version. It's good enough here.
>>722341524He's the same as Zalbaag, they understand each other
>>722347453Maybe auto-potion if you have x-potions
>>722347603well yeah, you used to just slap 'equip sword' on ninja and go to town, but the I think the reverse is better now. Just get ninja ASAP and do some levels in it for speed.Of course, if you're on Knight difficulty then ninjas are probably strictly better still
>>722346717FF takes a lot of jab on Buddhism (at the same time respect it) too but a lot less explicit because the westerners who play the game doesn't pick up cues. The most obvious one in FFX,
Is Cid still busted as fuck
Do these 3 chucklefucks get any extra dialogue explaining their deal this time? Always found it weird that Folmarv may as well have always been some closet demon the whole time since there’s no context to his human life and his cohorts may as well just be some douchebags who are along for the ride
bwos what the heck, i cant read every second post because it has huge spoilers
Wiegraf should have been the main villain not some old faggot or at least wiegraf takes over
>>722346638Not anymore. You think megachurches are unhappy with being tax exempt AND owning land AND having allies? At any rate, I'll take this Christianity thing over the backwards tyranny of Islam.
>>722346682Yes you are at least half retarded. Ramza Squire is a unique class though.
>>722346682You usually end up back in Squire with Ramza after levelling him up as other stuff to buff his stats. Squire is Ramza's best class in the end.
>>722332013Delita and Ramza were broken and beaten by the notion that "might makes right". There is no objective truth or good in the world, just what man asserts. However Delita absorbed this into his heart and decided if that's how the world works, I'm the one who's going to be calling the shots. The caged bird frees himself, and then makes sure the lock is nice and tight so nobody else can follow him. He couldn't even let Ovelia out of her cage, she traded in being a slave to powerful people to trusting in Delita and being his personal slave. Ramza, in part because he still had his little sister Alma and Delita lost Tietra, sees the manifest injustice of this sort of worldview and continuously tries to upend it.
>>722346717>>722346875What Christians are you talking to that are unhappy with FFT's portrayal of the church? This shit happened IRL, minus the magic and demons. Read some history.

>>722350775I'm honestly surpised no one has made a Ramza/Alma Andy & Lele edit
>>722350563A lot of people despise him but I think he had no options since he was a commoner and in order to make a difference all of the high ranks needed to be whiped out.Ramza understood that Delita was using him as a tool, though he likely didn't grasp the full scope of Delita's plan.
Do you think Agrias went with Ramza after defeating anime Satan? I wonder if news ever reached her that Ovelia got stabbed. They probably wouldn't say the literal king did it but you'd think she wouldn't leave the queen behind.
>>722350862He was a Risk breaker. He wasn't a simple squire
I wish we had some bonus stuff. A new game plus that let you carry over levels so you can actually use ultima and the end game classes earlier in the story. It feels like they really added nothing to the game.
>>722350998To be fair, a lot of what Delita was doing helped Ramza too. Delita knew what was up and did everything he could to make sure Ramza succeeded. Like arranging it so Orlandu could join up with Ramza.
>>722332013He's got this, bro.
>>722341403Ah, thought you could do 4:3 screen ratio but you’re just ultra wide. Would’ve been cool.
>>722351038I believe that Ramza at least show the Ajora manuscript to her and Mustadio (and Cid) and after that she changed her mind about the high ranks n the church.
>>722350578When he decided that lofty ideals of knighthood and honor, a sense of justice, or his personal fondness for a young mercenary he'd taken under his wing mattered not one whit weighed against the coin in his purse, Gaffgarion sold his soul to a much more insidious patron then any Zodiac Stone demon.
>Hangs out in a cave minding his own business all day>Shares the same name as the demon possessing him>Unique zodiac signMystery nigga
>>722351457>capitalism is worse than literal satanShut the fuck up retard.
>>722351238Holy cope, there is no evidence that Delita was even aware that he was working with literal demons. He just used them as tools to get power while they used him to resurrect their master. If it wasn't for Ramza cleaning up Delita's mess the world would have ended.
>>722351238Yes that's why is almost strange to me that a lot of people think that Delita was the true villain of the game. Without his help Ramza could never defeat the zodiacs and without Ramza's help, Delita would never have been able to fully demolish the aristocrats. They were working together in different fronts
>>722351038The fact that characters just stopped existing once they joined your team always bothered me. I made the perma death mechanic seem like a detriment. Sure, it added urgency to reviving a party memeber, but toward the mid game you would be an idiot to not reset after losing a character that took hours to level up. Starting from scratch on JP and job progression would be a nightmare.
>>722351652I said "more insidious." Having your brain hollowed progressively by a demon is a much more blatant thing then what happened to Gaffgarion, who was trying to save Ramza's life and have him return to his brother, until he wasn't.One was literal supernatural magic brainwashing you. The other is a man deciding the one person in the entire world who would give a shit if he died doesn't matter in the face of his paycheck. They were both hollowed out, but Gaffgarion did it himself, no Satan required.
>>722351610He just wanted to live pacefully making research in the cave then Ramza enter his cave and murder him.Ramza was the real villain all along, the records told the truth

>>722351685>He just used them as tools to get power while they used him to resurrect their master. If it wasn't for Ramza cleaning up Delita's mess the world would have ended.how did the lucavi use Delita to help them? And how was it Delita's mess?

>>722351685He was high enough in the church that he knew of their plot with the Auracite and knew that both the nobles and church were corrupt and directly made moves against them. He also knew that Ramza was directly moving against the church and was the best shot at bringing them down, thus doing everything he could to assist Ramza, like killing Zalmor and sparing Orlandu.
I always wondered if the Clockwork City of Goug became a super nation after the events of war of the lions. You know that guys were studying all of those ancient tech and stuff
>>722352052Delita's scheming to become king was encouraged by the Lucavi who intended to destabilize Ivalice through conflict to steal the rest of the stones. Delita's desire to use a war between nobles to rise up as a savior worked hand in hand with the Lucavi's need for war as a smokescreen. It worked out for Delita but only because Ramza cut off the demons while Delita soaked up the glory.
I just finished the remake and I have to say I'm really glad they re-did the script, it was a good balance between ye old timey Englishe and "the way people actually talk"
>>722352363No real explanation. Beaners and spics love the Final Fantasy franchise, and it's the flagship of the company. However, Square Enix doesn't have the available budget to localize the games in their language. Note that Square Enix has localized some of their games to Spanish. Dragon Quest VII Reimagined will have a Spanish localization, so they are quiet now. On another note, SaGa Frontier 2 had a French localization, but the remaster doesn't. The French weren't that vocal, but Ivalice Chronicles as a French localization.

Female Knights are better than Male Knights
>>722353038It's still nuts to me FFT is the future of that world and not the other way around. Matsuno showed Ivalice in its golden age and in the middle of the dark ages but we never get why the dark ages occurred.
People often call Archer the worst class, but what’s the 2nd-worse?
>>722353068Delita must have been in the same rank as Izlude or below, he didn't have a stone, right? But Meliadoul and Wiegraf were also kept in the dark. Personally, I think the plan was just to use Delita to have someone they could use to continue the endless bloodshed until Ultima could be resurrected. But Delita made his own goal after hearing about Ovelia's past. Balmafulla was probably higher in rank than him and Izlude and reported to Vormav.
>>722353457>we never get why the dark ages occurredThe church still existed, of course they were holding humanity's progress back
>>722353190I see someone is tacking advantage of how convinient is to grind this time unlike the old game where you had to go back and forth between stages in hope for a random combat. I just put my headphones, listen to my fav podcast and grind away.
>>722353578Delita was the leader of the Blackram Knights and taking orders from the High Confessor of the Church.
>>722353551Probably Mystic/Oracle damage is typically better than status inflection
>>722353551I don't get mime. All that effort to just repeat a move someone else did. Just make a second whatever that class was
>>722353401You fucking retard, he thinks they want the auracite so they can larp as the Braves for clout and influence. He knows they want it but has no idea what their true intentions are. He says it right there:>What's more, the church will have the Zodiac Braves. He means they will more or less rule Ivalice by acting out a religious proficiency. He says he isn't a hound of the church and at that point in the story serving the church no longer helps him become king. He is still acting entirely of his own interest after helping the Church set the stage.
>>722353378Olan was so lucky.Imagine all those blowjobs without complains
the story of final fantasy tactics is easy to understand when you realize it is basically a retelling of tactics ogre. ramza is like chaos route denam who doesn't give up on his idealism but has to spend most of his time running away from people with power. delita is like law route denam with the lord end who gives up on his ideals for the power to change the system, but loses the trust of the person most important to him.
Delita became as bad as the nobles and we never do hear if life became any better under him.
>>722354003Doesn't it mimic what every non-mine character does? So you're getting potentially 3-4 more characters worth of actions with the downside that you have to position them to hit. Also they have the best stat growths in some categories if you care for that side of minmaxing.
>>722353838That's another detail, when he mentions his unit when he meets Goltana, one of the officials says that he thought the unit had been wiped out or routed. The Church had them all killed and placed Delita at the top there? And yep, I forgot about the High Confessor.
>>722354529for god sake anon they told you that at the intro of the game
>>722354531by the time you get them you're like 30-35 and the biggest increases are behind you unless you're going to delevel cheese.Good point on the action economy, though. Maybe I'll make one after all.
>>722354739>>722354531think of it this way: some actions will be useless but if you have a dancer and a knight, you can do a SECOND status dance and also blow someone up with melee with one character
>>722351983Nice guys finish last.Dead last.
>>722354057He knows they want the auracite to get the zodiac braves and needs Ramza to keep dismantling the church, thus doing everything he can to help him. It doesn't matter if he thinks the braves are demons or not, you're splitting hairs.
>>722354531You can do fun stuff with them. Like equip fundaments on your other units and have them do the skill that increases your power. Your mime will get 3-4 free turns of him copying the skill. It snowballs pretty fast and you’ll be one shotting most enemies within the second or third use of the skill. Anything beyond that is just lols to see if you can get to 999 damage per hit.
>>722354798yeah I forgot it mimics everything, not just one action
>>722353190>level 40
>>722354643I don't remember seeing anything like that in the intro
Anyone else find it kinda weird how much screen time Delita gets but after a certain point he basically has nothing to do with Ramza?
>>722352841I thought Delita's schemes were mostly just the church's scheme until near the end, where he decided to strike out on his own.He didn't really seem to have that much effect for the most part
>>722332013that in the quest for power/influence you will discard your humanity and become the very thing that inspired you to rise to power in the first place
>>722354910I'm not though. Delita grossly underestimated the threat of the people he was helping. He stopped helping and assisted Ramza not out of some sense of honor or friendship but because the church had outlived its usefulness to him. He had grander plans and keeping Ramza alive helped those plans by keeping the church distracted. He doesn't understand that he was helping demon's revive their god and he isn't helping Ramza to stop the gods revival. He is playing politics in a game of ancient prophecy.

>>722355517oh go on, you know you want to
>stabs the queen>gets away with it I dunno man I think Delita should have gotten way more shit even if he is the king
>>722355602The difference is huge in the context of the game world.>Worst case scenario in Delita's mindThe Church now controls Ivalice and the High confessor continues to exploit the peasantry>Actual Worst case scenarioThe country is drown in blood as horrible demon's slaughter the masses. He was in over his head, but it worked out for him.
>>722355080I think it works because even when the characters aren't interacting directly with each other, they are parallels to one another. Ramza is the noble who discards his lineage and outward appearance for the sake of others and his own sense of honor, while Delita is a commoner who discards others for the sake of acquiring nobility. Both men are "created" by the same event of Fork Zeakden, but see wildly different results from it. Ramza ends the game a disgraced noble and heretic, only being redeemed by history many years after the fact. Delita was hailed a hero during his time despite every step of his ascension being paved with the blood of those he used and discarded.
>>722355384He realizes the church is corrupt and needs to be removed and that Ramza has the Scripture of Germonique and that Ramza is actively fighting the church and is the best chance of doing that. It does further Delita's goals in both ways, but he is still actively helping Ramza because of it. He literally gives a speech about how Zalmor is vile because he uses the name of god to hide behind to subjugate the weak.
>>722355829So how does this work? Ovelia is supposed to be royalty by blood. Delita marries her. Does this mean Ovelia calls the shots or does Delita become the supreme authority by virtue of being a man?

>>722340278>>722340489>>722340838>>722342571The reason Ramzas partymembers never show up in the ending in the first place is because they can die permanently during gameplay. Its the same reason all the unique characters shut up once they permanently join, the devs didnt want to make alternate scenes based on wether they were alive or not. Its a little jarring because Tactics Ogre at least had some alternate scenes for its ending based on which unique characters survived where they got to speak one more time.

>>722357912>Can you explain what you mean by this?guessing from secondhand exposure to some modding stuff, basically the way the game spins off the different palettes of characters isn't by having a bunch of the same sprite recolored, but instead by taking one sprite and making a palette list of the colors they should have depending on the designation they have. so if you want to totally replace how a sprite is in the game, you'd also have to crack the palette list open.

>>722361930the geomancer was always the one generic I wanted to ride
>>722362183summons are pretty dedicated already. they dont really do well with split focus. the advantage they have is that summons cant friendly fire so you can dump a summon targetted on your main attacker to prevent the ai from entering the aoe to melee him or if they do, get hit with a big spell. golem is also a summon that doesnt really care what your magic or faith is, it only looks at max hp of the caster then provides a party wide shield to physical damage using that max hp amount, aka stick that on your knight as a subaction or something
>>722362639good call, got Agrias as Geo for her 'final' class though. I think I might just ditch the summoner idea and just go white mage/time Will be so busy hasting and healing that holy and meteor should be fine as damage when needed

I know he wanted to become king to reform society so there would be no casualties like his sister due to class disparity, but by the end of the game he hasn't really changed society at all. At best you can argue he managed to kill off the demon illuminati thanks to his machinations, but even then I'd give Ramza just as much if not more credit for doing so. And Ramza didn't have to compromise his ideals for that and managed to save his sister, something Delita could never do.

>>722364661Well, the Sega era ones were fine given the games they came from before (Valkyria, Persona, etc) or got a parity release for the later elements. I mean, Sega got Atlus to get P4Golden out of vita jail, HD refreshed, and released it on Steam for a pittance, sold a fortune despite all of the previous Atlus hand wringing about BUT BUT NOBODY ON PEEECEEE WILL KNOW AND BUY IT SEGA-SAN. >>722362220To be fair, there's 3 version of ultima in the game, it's just that you only get to learn the weakest one.
>>722364787Did people actually like it, though?I've played WotL doesn't of times, but aside from Luso and Balthier, I hardly dabble in any of its exclusive content. I guarantee you most of the playerbase has never tried the multiplayer stuff or bothered with the extra jobs.
>>722365261..is that the case? I don't remember originally and maybe I' mgetting something mixed up, but doesn't Orlandu basically have a screen-wide ultima attack as well as unique sword techs or whatever the fuck it was?

>>722365280Multiplayer would’ve been great with some actual internet functionality a la Steam instead of local shit
>>722365446Yeah, that's the thing - most of the WotL stuff just innocuous, grindy late game content.I'd rather just have the base gameplay tweaked to fix some of its more egregious balancing issues and difficulty spikes.
>>722364787this is like the 23rd time you've made this same postLOL
>>722365668That's an entirely different discussion than porting but okay. >remakes/remastersMost of Sega studio titles are done reasonably well for remake or remaster , or something entirely separate. Same with ports. >denuvoYeah, that's annoying. Typically they remove it after the first year or so, but if this is what it takes to get JP devs to give day 1 PC releases and other parity stuff then its a begrudging price to pay, especially if its only going to be there for 6 months or whatever. RGG is still making bank off Yakuza 0 - 6 selling on sale for $8 or some shit so its not like it only works if they keep denuvo active.
>>722365905>Most of Sega studio titles are done reasonably well for remake or remasterright...
>>722365446>>722365823I think if they were doing the overhauls and updates of the Ivalice chronicles, they should have included all the stuff added in WotL and then more. Charging for a definitive edition should not not lack content but SE is massively uneven with this, like the goddamn "pixel remaster" lacking content that previous versions of the game had in other iterations, notably FFIII and especially FFIV (where the PSP version is the definitive 2D version, and the 3D remake is perhaps the definitive version overall - except you have to mod in JP audio on PC) .

What is this talk about balance changes?Have they made late game classes (dark knight, dancer/bard, calculator) aviable before post game? Are shields worth a shit now?Are buff spells still a bitch to land?
>>722365796Before the game came out i was thinking it was a shame it didn't have some kind of online multiplayer. But now that i remember what it's like to play, i'm not sure how that would actually work with how long turns can take in an srpg. Like local multiplayer where you can chat with your pal sure, but i doubt matching with randos online would be fun. Some kind of asynchronous pvp would be fun though where you go through a gauntlet of other people's teams (ai controlled). Lots of games use that model where if you e.g go 10 wins before getting knocked out, your team gets uploaded and used against someone else on their 10th match of their run. That said, there's probably also a factor where they don't want the sentiment around a beloved classic to be tainted by all the screeching about balance that pvp would introduce.
