This detail on the LEGO Gameboy is insane

using lego logos to fake the ridges on the game boy's d-pad is a nice touch

Bro I just built mine the day before yesterday, and it's so cool. The details are great, the insert screens are really neat, and the two cartridges really finish the look, with being able to put one of em on a stand.
I really want them to make more consoles.

Remember when Lego used to make sets that felt like real world adventures instead of just marketing tie ins for other companies' products?
>>
I don't get legos
I just don't
>>
>>722342762
about 60
>>
>>722342916
yea and no one bought them
>>
>>722342298
So you can't actually play the games? Am I getting it right? A bit of a misleading product if so.
>>
>>722342916
No I don't, because even as a kid I preferred Lego technic to build vehicles and shit, so for me, building consoles or videogame dioramas like the Bowser or the question block thing are way more fun.
>>
>>722343067
Are you retarded? Lego was probably the best selling toy of the 90s. I don't know a single person who didn't have multiple lego sets when I was growing up.
>>
>>722343039
It is funn to build, and if you have lots of legos you can build completely different things of of them or slightly modify it. Like building you own gameboy camera or a cartidge gun etc.
>>
>>722342298
Lego is one of the greediest and woke companies in the whole world right now. They have colonoscopy bag down's syndrome characters vitiligo shit everywhere every set has to have an equal split of women and they weren't allowed to use Forestmen anymore they have tranny/faggot/nigger flag sets. All they do is things meant for the background of podcasts.licenseslop is everywhere. Their prices are absolutely insane like a 650 dollar starter Pokemon set and their quality of plastic is going down the shitter. Its filled with a tranny fanbase and YOUTUBER groomers. Especially for bionicle. They bought the secondhand online store so now you csnr even buy old lego without giving them money. Somehow it's so woke the Harry Potter license and Saudi aravian sponsored racecars dont trigger the troons because they are so addicted to eating lego disney slopshit and posting pictures of it in boxes for reddit karma. YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW BAD IT REALLY IS
>>
>>722342546
Super Mario Land is not even the best in its own series.
>>
>>722343183
I DIDNT EVEN TELL YOU ABOUT THE CHINK WHO FUCKDD UP THE BIONICLE LEAK OR THE LEGO INVESTOR STAR WARS FANS
>>
This is cringe and dumb wtf?

Why not just get a Gameboy? Its cool to have and you could actually play it. You won't, and I get it. But you CANT play this. "I have purchased a non functional replica of a console". Am I retarded?
>>
>>722342298
k.. keep me posted
>>
>>722343182
If someone made a guide to build a lego gameboy camera for this, I would 100% build that.
>>

complaining about this with lego is baffling, they already had licensed sets out the ass in your childhood
>>

Seething this hard over Nintendo's cultural legacy.
>>

missed opportunity to actually make it a playable console that you build with legos and turn on like the old mindstorm line

>>

>>

this looks cooler than real gameboy tho. it's for displaying purposes anyway.
probably wouldn't be too hard to make it functional gameboy. i'm sure people will do that pretty fast and post designs

I agree a model train hobby is expensive, but there is so much autism that goes into it and Lego just isn't it.
I used to always wanted to collect Hornby when I was a child, and be fascinated by the model sets that I saw, and it's mostly why adults are the only ones into the hobby because as you say it's expensive and they are the ones who can afford it.

Don’t worry, I’m sticking with stuff that can integrate into a kind of character diorama setting, and I’m trying to stick to waiting for sale prices. So I think I should be fine.

>So I think I should be fine.
You think you'll be fine but then you see something you think is cool outside of that theme, next it's something cool from your childhood, then it's something you thought would never happen.
Next think you know you have shelves upon shelves of them. I speak from personal experience.
Still not giving it up though

Literally all those button adapters just actually make the buttons worse, but man they felt so cool when I was a kid I didn't care.

I know this is a lot to most of the world but it's really not that much in America.
>>

"Shell" wasn't a storeshelf- and setting-hogging theme.
>>

I know. Just grabbed an X-Men set that was marked down. Having Wolverine and Kapp’n do grizzled old guy things together was too much of an appeal.

That's pretty neat. Not worth $60 but it's neat

>>
>>722342298
I love shit like this since I was a LEGO kid growing up. That said the prices haven't gotten any cheaper so it's clear LEGO are just inflating the prices to take advantage of manchildren. No way this shit is worth $70.
>>
>>722356332
Well yeah everyone loves the classic Johnny Thunder sets, my favorite were the dino ones.
I was more meaning a newer theme that seems completely forgotten though. Even had winged mummies and a man eating giant scarab.

It's a fair chunk of change for a toy castle, yes, even in NA. Hell even if that was in CAD which is worth like 30% less than USD, it's still a LOT for a toy castle.
I know the response will be "le poorfeg kope" but honestly I've spent more on dumber stuff and it's still quite a pricetag for a box of gray wall parts.
>>
>>722360308
It's not about the amount of money but the worth of the product anon is a relatively small assortment of plastic bricks really worth it?

Rock Raiders already exists as a really good game. And even has an open source remake that was so good the dev got hired by Lego.

Guilty. Will keep an eye out for the Toy Story 5 sets in the hopes that they come half as close to the kino that was the 2009-2010 line. Would love to have a modern remake of pic related too. The $150 18+ Slinky Dog book ends can go fuck itself though.

>Space and Castle
LEGO sets in plastic bags with instructions, but I have no idea where I can sell them for decent prices without having to build each one out or whatever first - I don't have time for that unless someone with decent rep told me they really wanted to buy a set if I built it to show it was complete first. Bricklink also seems to not let you sell anything unless you buy shit first so...uh.

People always make the excuse that the molds are long gone, that they wouldn't sell as well as the most popular licenses, etc. but I don't believe it for a moment. There's no chance in hell that they couldn't afford to do it if they really wanted to and the nostalgia factor and retro appeal alone would probably make them even more successful than their initial release. Also applies to sought after license themes.
