meanwhile somewhere deep inside the final fantasy V thread!!!
I made everybody a summoner and spammed bahamut to stretch out Exdeath's asshole with multiple lasers.
>>722393039I fucking love FF5>>722393154>not using 3 mimes to accomplish thiswhy?
I still can't believe monster girl quest paradox is the more direct sequel to ff5 job system
>>722393634Because by that point you can get the masmune & kit out your black mage with either the staff or rod for insane damage n8
>>722393684>forgetting this gems
>>722393684Hold on there, Mr. Nigger.
Midnight bump
Missed Carbuncle and then my safety save was deleted because Im an idiot. Can any anon recommend a solution or save editor for FFV PC, NOT the pixel remaster? Not betting on it, but I figured Id ask.
>>722395162>FFV PCWait, you mean the one ported from iOS? Holy shit, why.
>>722395162Unironicly check gamefaqs best bet is either the SNES version save or GBA files anon
>>722395202Extra dungeons and jobs.
>>722395162Do you need Carbuncle?
>>722395303First playthrough and I was hoping to not miss any major magic or summon.>Unironicly check gamefaqsIll try that, thanks.
>>722395246Contentslopper
>>722395303nta but that's one way to have party wide reflection on all fours fighters, the other is to steal a rare 75% miss chance of an wall rings from mages in ex-death castle
>>722395406Honestly, after 100% FFVI PC I learned to appreciate the weird ass sprites and awesome portraits. That and the extra content for V and VI is either emulation, hardware or the PC versions I bought a decade ago that they no longer sell.
>>722395371You don't need Carbuncle.Steal Genji gear from Gilgamesh encounters. Learn Blue Magic Big Guard from rare Stingray random encounter when sailing the sea on the same spot Water Sanctuary was before it sank. Phoenix Tower has set encounters with Magic Pots that give big amount of AP in exchange of Elixir, leave grindy abilities like Dual Cast for them.Freelancer and Mime jobs get stronger the more jobs you have mastered. Have 2 physical freelancers with 4xShot and 2 magical mimes. Also learn chemist Mix to double your max HP for the final boss. Characters staying KO at the end of the final battle are dead in the ending
>>722395483You don't need Carbuncle
I need to keep going with FF4. I played through the first three games, and got about a quarter of the way through 4 before taking a break. Though going through 5 again also sounds fun.
>>722393039You know how you can be indifferent about something but obnoxious people ruin it for you. As a FF3 fan thats how Im starting to feel about FF5.
>>7223956914s one of my least favourite but its short, and the halfway point on the mountain is pretty kino.
>>722395759>As a FF3 fanOpinion discarded
>>722395612>Magic Pots that give big amount of AP in exchange of ElixirI legit was wondering why the fuck I had so many elixers. I know it was grinding ap somewhere but I just got the first tablet and I have like 30 of them already.Thank you for the advice.
>>7223958765 and 8 first parts may be the best games in the series, but that back half falls off hard and Im tired of pretending it doesn't. Throw in the shittiest cast in the series, I'd much rather take the self insert version of FF3, you wouldnt get it though, you have to have friends to self insert to enjoy. Plus have a soul to enjoy the nes kino.
why does nobody ever talk about the plots of I to V?
>>722395863I at least appreciate how, after the first three games sort of drop the ball in the story department (2 arguably had the strongest but still left a lot to be desired), 4 really feels like the first time they tried to focus more on it. Though I'll admit it is not as exciting as I hoped for gameplay wise, and that might've been why I had to step away from it.
>>722396251Especially when 4 has such a large cast of characters - some of which die.
>>722396251i mean... did you play the games? theres not much to talk about
>>7223962511 gets talked about all the time. 2 is over shadowed by what may have been the best villian in the series. 3 doesnt really have a plot till the end, 4... I dont know?Thats a good point, always top rated in Japan. Has a real story. I think its becuase most Westerners dont love it but no idea?
>>722396251I've seen more people talk about IV's plot compared to V's. Which is a damn shame, V was my second (after 1) and I loved it dearly, I remember crying hard after a certain moment which is rare for me playing vidya.
>>722395759So you're the obnoxious fuck trying to ruin the thread.Election tourists go back
>>722396251None of their stories really stick out to as particularly strong. >I is about a post apocalyptic world where the four fiends have fucked up shit for ages and the sparse Kingdoms are like that because of it, with the big plot twist being Garland is Chaos and discussion of time loops. Not bad necessarily, but it leaves things feeling fairly simple and straight forward. Maybe the coolest moment is the NES version hinting the flying castle is a Satellite/Space Station, which just goes to show you how far along Lufenian tech was before Tiamat fucked things up.>II has an oppressive world where the Empire has already mostly won, making it darker than most of the other games, but it also has some of the most boring main characters imaginable. The guest characters tend to be more interesting in comparison, and the villain is mostly remembered for coming back from hell after dying.>III has a couple of good moments like realizing you're on a floating island above a flooded world, and the Noah and his students stuff is at least kind of interesting, but otherwise most of the story is just going from place to place.>IV probably feels like the first time they actually tried with the story more and acted more cutscenes and dialogue, but also suffers from multiple characters surviving stuff they shouldn't, certain characters not developing after a certain point, or the plot making it obvious when the game designers wanted you to have a new character so they have to make one of your party members run off or disappear in some way.>V is mostly fun for its gameplay, the best character in the roster is Gilgamesh who gets plenty of time in the spotlight. Otherwise Galuf's last stand is the most stand out character moment, and otherwise the game takes on a far more comedic tone, leaving a lot of the plot reveals to be not as exciting, but I guess you can argue it can at least argue it makes some more serious moments stick out.
>>722397070I like Bartz's backstory and the stuff in Lix
>>722393154i sold everything i didn't need then gave everyone gil toss and paid xdeath to go away
>>722397070Also realized I fucked up that last sentence, I'm writing all this before I fall asleep, but you get the picture. Also for the record, I like what SoP did to add to FF1's story, even if the devs have said "it's an alternate Garland/universe." Jack's still a fun character at least.
>>722397153I always felt like Bartz was the most "just along for the ride" main character of the bunch, even if he gets a reveal that his dad was a warrior of dawn. Think it helps he was content with just chilling with his Chocobo and thought about leaving, but I think it helps his easy going character and makes him a good balance to everyone else.
>>722397430I kinda like that about him. He doesn't (until near the end at least) have a huge personal stake in it, but he made some friends and it matters to them so he's along for the ride. That's kinda why I like Zidane too
>>722397519I'm a big Zidane enjoyer myself, can't really get mad at a main character that just tries to bring everyone else up when most are having the shittiest weeks of their lives and in his time of need, it makes sense why everyone would bring him up in turn.
>>722397724Zidane went on his search before the game started and gave up because he decided it didn't matter. He sticks around because it's in his nature, he wants to bang Garnet, and he sees a lot of himself in Vivi
>>722395759>obnoxious people ruin it for youimagine being this insecure and feeble minded that other people can ruin something you enjoy. You are a sheep
>>722393039
>>722396251this was when they focused on gameplay before catering to anime watching weebfaggots like you
just posting my progress
>>722401003>Story is more important than gameplaynah. go read a book. Didn't read the rest
>>722397180From what I understand it's something like Dissidia Garland is FF1 Garland. Jack is also FF1 Garland. But Dissidia Garland and Jack are not the same guy.
>>722402514
Any of you'll niggas play Fantasian? I honestly like the idea of part 2 being more non-linear and gameplay oriented, but it's kind of starting to drag.
>>722405165I did. Beat the post game too. It was a fun little game. I loved the model areas, especially the cave in the chaos area with that incredible shade of blue.
>>722394165>i am forgotten
>>722406245I am the only person who played that game
>>722406069I'm currently doing Lv42 stuff, so not too far off from the end. Does it get better in the final stretch? Also yeah the cave was pretty cool, great music too.
What's the definitive way to play 1-6 on PC if I can't stand the sprites in the pixel remaster? Do I mod in original sprites and a better font, or do I emulate the GBA versions and mod in better audio?
>>722406603Latter is better in my experience.
Best gameplay enhancement romhack or mod for FF5? Something like BNW for FF6.
>>722406761PS1 version for the edgelord localization
>>722393039Are the pixel remasters worth it? I only got VI for how highly praised it is. How does V compare to VI?
>>722407293FF1 has MASSIVE balance change since the GBA port, a no go if you're a NES purist.Other games are all solid remaster, can't go wrong with any of them.
>>722407293VI got way more love than V got. Not that V's port is fucked up or anything it's just kind of there. There's lots of modding potential with the pixel remasters at least, maybe worth looking into but you're not really missing out just firing up most of them on an emulator instead.I'd say the only ones that particularly stand out in the Pixel Remasters are III and VI since they at least contain some nice additions to make them stand out rather than small tweaks.
>>722407502If we're going by NES purism, even PS1 is pushing it for FF2. Nothing does the original justice in its torture.
>>722396251Characters don't stand out that much.People talk about Garland, nobody played 2 because it's by far the worst in the series but has an interesting plot
