Imagine every weapon basically a piece of shit which easily breaks, same goes for enemies. However, it's most often not bad at dealing damage. Switching and breaking weapons has its own benefits too. Basically taking away the focus and need to REPAIR and maintain weapons you find so it can actually keep its DPS output. Instead its much more about what you can disarm from enemies and effects of cracking a rifle in twain over the head of an enemy for buffs or condition effects before whipping out another.
