Is Tekken 8 worth getting into? Never got into fighting games before but the 3D fighting looks funReviews are mixed on steam for some reason though
anyone?
I'd play the arcade modes for the first 6 Tekkens + TTT optinally first to get a general feeling of how Tekken should play like then I'd get 8 just to play online and suffer with its terrible ADHD fueled gameplay with heat activation, infinite bounds with stage shit exploding all over and what else. If you want to REALLY get into 3D fighting then play Soul Calibur 2
>$300 of dlc>cutting out characters just to sell back to youLMFAO what kind of paypiggy would do this
I think Tekken 8 has been more harmful to people who have been sticking with the series and spent years (or even decades) getting good at the game.
>>722461249Just play tekken 6 or tekken 5, man
>>722461807>>722461249it's fun I like it a lot and it was my first tekken game. I also don't play many fighting games otherwise. The main reason reviews are mixed is because of business practices (they added a microtransaction shop and battle pass a few months after launch) and also they released a stage that didn't come with a character so you had to buy it separately and the backlash for that was so bad they gave everyone 500 of their mtx currency to apologize (you can't buy the stage with this currency either). The other reason for a lot of bad reviews is a lot of hardcore players were really annoyed by some season 2 changes because they were under the impression that it was going to buff defence and it ended up giving every character more offense options. So I would say maybe it is, but it is most definitely overpriced considering how much the DLC characters are.Pic related is pretty old now
>>722461249It's mixed because they don't like the way they changed the old gameplay style and added battle passes and stuff. You'll be fine, it's fun and easy for a beginner to mash around with.
Why aren't fighting game players in a rage about how horribly they're treated by the companies?
>>722462821The Tekken players that are mad about everything that Tekken 8 did already left, had their rage, then stopped playing/talking about tekken altogether with the only ones left being retards like that one in this thread who started with Tekken 8. That or they are the few esports guys that get money from playing it like the Koreans and pakis.
It's kind of tricky because the flaws are definitely there but a large amount of backlash does still come from lower skilled players repeating what the pros say. There are people complaining about heat being stupidly overtuned who proceed to get mixed by 20 year old Law strings and not ducking or stepping heavily spammed moves like 3+4,4.
>>722461249don't
>>722463341Lol, every big IP is getting fucked by greedy companies right now. None of the bullshit being put into tekken right now is unique to fighting games. Time and time again it is proven that consumers will eat shit over and over because they can't stand not having the newest piece of bullshit to come out.You can call me retarded that's fine, I did buy the game thinking they wouldn't put a cash shop in after release, but as far as I'm concerned fighting games are probably going to start implementing gacha systems to get characters in the future. I actually can't wait to see what happens with soul calibur 7 only because I'm certain it will be a massive fucking trainwreck. Also don't forget niggers, niggers love fighting games.
>>722461249I dont like it too much
>>722461249>>722461807Tekken 8 is a great game, its been my GOTY 2024 and 2025. I play it religiously.I would definitely recommend trying it. The reviews are only mixed because the tekken community has really high standards (a good thing) and rightfully gets pissed anytime the devs make any even small decision they dont like (happened recently with season 2, just search 'tekken season 2' on youtube if you really care, but as a new player those changes dont effect your experience at all). Also if youre brand new to Tekken and want a decent place to learn some basics before jumping online, this is a super useful document>https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/e/2PACX-1vTsgbCJNSTKajMNlJvQleJOl0eTiEcV-PbeU0obDg1lsSqmz0lTtcD2k6NzfTPt7Db9Ua2dz1o_34Sv/pub
>>722464703what's your rank
>>722464856I dont play much ranked but I got tekken god season 1, now im trying to get all 38 characters to tekken king>>722461249id also add you can get tekken 7 with all the dlc for like $5 on key sites if you want a cheaper option, and t5 and tag 2 are on emulators with online and those games rule too if you like the older titles. Can't really go wrong. T7 on PC has steady playerbase, I get games with barely any wait any time of day.
>>722464281Asians do too dickhead what's your fuckin point? Niggers love fps games too should I stop playing those?
>>722461249It's mixed because they had a disastrous patch earlier this year and are fixing it at a snail's pace. Apparently their reasoning is the tournament scene, though I assume the real answer is that there are only few guys working on this game. As for the game itself, I can stomach it for about 30 hours each yearly quarter until I uninstall it again and go bitch on /v/. They went a bit too far when it came to streamlining with this entry. It's good to keep in mind that while previous entries have always been streamlined in some ways to make them more palatable for newcomers , this time they actually designed the entire main mechanic around newbies. You are the target audience.
>>722464703>Hey I'm a jackass with little to no standards here's why you should play my favorite gameIt baffles me to know that those retards at bamco actually managed to achieve their goal of getting the even dumber people like you as fanatics for this piece of shit.
>>722465709hey alright
it's trash so is every current fighting game. Pick your poison I guess
