Apart from the human MCs, the story has been quite enjoyable surprisingly. Just got done with the Venusmon/Neptunemon bit and it was a neat little story. The digital world has a lot of personality. It's the first story game where I'm enjoying the story somehow.

The Greek gods were, perhaps, created for people to direct their frustrations towards, while simultaneously forcing to realize how utterly powerless they are. Even if humanity's situation didn't improve, at the very least having some focal point to direct those feelings for might have helped to alleviate your anguish somewhat.
