There needs to be a new cartridge medium that uses SSDs instead of game cards that has the read speeds of SSDs in consoles. For backwards compatibility you can have a gamecard adapter in the SSD (sold seperately). Also internal storage has to be a proper 2 terrabyte SSD.

The system is going to be thicker to handle a bigger battery and cooling solutions. There will no longer be detachable joycons but the system will be dockable at least. Nintendo will be competing handheld PCs now. So a new OS is necessary.

I honestly don't expect Nintendo to innovate anything next generation. This is Greed Era Nintendo. At best they'll have specs to compete with handheld PCs at $1000 a system. At worst the Switch 3 will have no third party support and only play first party Nintendo games. And at that point Nintendo NEEDS to go third party if they cannot make competent or unique hardware anymore.
