Seriously, is there any?>Crazy cheap games>Sales every season>Free online>Full controller customization>Steam workshop>Free Steam cloudThe only downsides I see is that they can take down games from the steam store, like GTA SA, Old Sonic games, etc.And also it's digital media, so you don't really own the games. Is there a better way to game other than on steam?

Steam is a store front, your platform is a PC.
>>722517517Agreed?
>>722517139But when someone buys a game there it says "person now owns [Game name]" in the Steam activity tab thoughFalse advertising?
>>722515039>Crazy cheap gamesImagine wanting to buy cheap games, this is the cancer that ruined gaming. Games should become much more expensive, so people buy less games, but pay more money for the games they truly enjoy, we need games to cater to core target audiences again instead of trying to appeal to bigger audiences. Words can't describe how happy I am that Japanese games became more expensive, hopefully they become even more expensive. Bought Ninja Gaiden 4 Deluxe Edition for 90 euros and Nioh 3 Digital Deluxe Edition for 120 euros. Other games won't get even 1 euro from me ^_^Steam is the best platform, yes, but buying cheap games is cringe.
>>722515039>steam>"""platform"""I hate underage zoomer faggots so much it's unreal.
>>722518317Okay old fart.
>>722518317Steam is the platform, 99% of people who buy games on PC, buy them from Steam. GoG is a joke, EGS is a joke.
>>722515039>conveniently not mentioning how ludicrously expensive PC hardware is and how infuriating it is to troubleshootIn answer to your question, PlayStation or Nintendo which both have sales and (in the case of PS, which is the peak of irony) physical releases that can be resold and used completely offline.

>>722518512Valve can literally kill Microsoft at any second, they can release an upgraded SteamOS for PC and it would be over. Know your place, PC gaming = Steam.
>>722518454Literally everyone has a PC. When I grew up, I used my dad's windows 7. If you have a computer, you can run 70% of the games on steam. But I agree with you on physical releases. Physical media is superior to digital media though.
>>722518685>goyim is completely brainwashed
Honestly man. I don’t think in terms of platforms. Things like Steam launchers just get in the way of what I want to do, that is playing the game. Finding and buying the game, sure I will give you that. But everything else, just get that crap out of my way. I want to play a game, not a DRM platform.
>>722518812>When I grew up, I used my dad's windows 7.This literally made me cry. I am too old for this website, it is infested with zoomers and underage kids now. I'm leaving, goodbye.
>>722519230See you tomorrow, faggit
>>722518010I think this is why people feel that gaming is so much less interesting/worse when they get older. When you were a kid, if you weren't rich/totally spoiled, you would have to think greatly before purchasing any games because you'd only get new games when your parents took you to the store and gave you a small budget to get one game. Even if the game you got wasn't all that great, you'd still play it to death and even appreciate it.
>>722518430>GOG is a jokeretard zoomer detected
>>722515039>cheap gamesevery key site is cheaper and has been for like 5 years now>salesagain, every key site is cheaper all year. its not even funny how much better key sites are now. they are secure, dirt cheap and dont hold your data nor do they region lock anything. >freethey harvest your data via their bloatware app dumbass>other shitfuck off retard learn to edit a text file Pirates win every single time. Key sellers are the next best option. Digital stores are the fucking worst.
>>722520425Tell me more of these key sites? Do you buy steam keys from them?
>>722518812>Literally everyone has a PCI work in accounting, so I’m talking about people who are not poor or drooling retards and know how to use a computer. Last year we had to audit everyone’s login and access so we needed to know what hardware everyone had. In our office of ~150 people, exactly four (4) had a laptop or desktop of any kind at home that didn’t belong to the company, 2 windows 2 mac, and the only person who had a printer was me. The entire rest of the office were 100% phone + tablet households. I’ve seen at least one other anon post a similar story too so it’s not just me. You WILDLY overestimate how many people bother with a computer these days, at least in the first world. It’s all phone and tablet, switch if you have kids or are a childless millennial, and playstation if you like GTA.
>>722520415faggot millennial
>>722520283Great comment. I wonder if my fond memories of what you describe here has something to do with the way I approach games even now that I am older. The average consumer doesn't even try to learn, understand and play a game properly. They just want to finish it and move on to the next slop. This has to be a form of mental illness that should be researched. Why even play a game at that point?
Any other platforms allow malware? Therefore steam is the WORST platform
>>722520425Are these keys cheaper than turkish/argentian steam store prices during sales?
>>722520652Well... all my friends during high school and in college gamed on pc.
>>722517348This is what desperation looks like.Tick tock Timmy, daddy Tencent will come for their dues.
>>722515039Steam Workshop is a pretty big negative though. "Direct" downloading any mod requires SteamCMD, there's piss all for version control, any mods listed as dependencies that get deleted or depreciated on the workshop are silently removed from the mods that require them, the tagging system is actual dogshit and usually falls to whatever the developer themselves thought would be needed at the time of implementation, and some implementations of the workshop leave the control of it to the games, so shit is vulnerable to getting fucked (e.g. if L4D2 blips at all while syncing mods, it can delete your entire workshop folder, and they also made it so SteamCMD doesn't download mods properly, making things extra fucked for server owners)
>>722515039i've had it since like 2012 but i only really became truly steam pilled after how underwhelming the ps5 was and upgrading my pc

>>722520890I think it's FOMO. Being an adult and being able to buy ANYTHING you want just results in the freedom overpowering you, and you buying as much popular slop as possible. I believe this is why you see so many adults with such massive backlogs comparative to when you were a kid and just playing everything you got to death. I think the change can be pinpointed as being when games began to appeal more to adults and less to kids. For example: the original Legend of Zelda was clearly designed at the time for a kid who was going to be slow, methodical, and take their time in the world of Hyrule. The game is a cryptic mess, with how little hints are given to the secrets (bomb random wall, light random bush, etc...), but for a kid that would spend hours trying to figure it out, discussing it with friends in the playground, it would be the only game you'd be playing for months. Now games are designed for losers rushing to the next slop they can buy.I think the only "solution" to this for the modern consumer is unironically to stop buying games (at least for a while) and stop listing to gaming news. Working through your backlog and not knowing about any of the slop coming out today, you'll find that you'll spend more time on each game, and enjoy it more. At least, that's what worked for me.

>>722515039Gog.com has all that pkus you keep DRM installation files so, you own it forever. On any machine.
>>722515039GOG because you actually get to own your games. Steam is just a rental store, like Gamepass.
>>722520652>try playing against someone online>it's xbox or phoneIt's kinda weird to think about. I'm the odd one out for using a PC, if you don't have a PC culture they might not get one, and they do have a cost so I somewhat understand not having one. Though honestly I'd bet accountfags are just complete normalfags grazing their exams.
