Videogames peaked in gameplay and storytelling with MGR:R and we didn't get a sequel because of corporate greed and human ego. Even if the moral of the story is centrist libshit trash, it's still compelling to everybody just for being ENJOYABLE which is something that most games can't fucking do anymore. Meanwhile, we'll never get a remake of Resident Evil 5 because killing Africans in a setting within Africa is somehow problematic even when the story is about the evils of colonialism and the badguys are literal nazis. Despite people being THAT retarded, everybody loves MGR:R almost entirely despite the politics and we will still not get a fucking sequel. The setting that MGR sets up and the ending are both entirely sequel bait, being among the darkest cyberpunk societies in fiction where the majority of people are cobbled together like Robocop with companies hijacking their bodies while they're completely conscious without control and we will NEVER EVER get a sequel. Fuck.
