It's not really my dream game if the AI is making it for me is it?

not really, it's still extremely limited/short/nonsensical clips stitched together, and they still manage to look like absolute ass. i get it, it's fine for the social media crowds who have attention spans that last no longer than half a minute, but be honest with yourself, it's still just novelty shit that's being pushed by 7 major corporations who each have stock in the other's products, desperate to avoid the inevitable bubble pop
>>

Good enough for game quality though, it can't be worse than what AAA game companies have been pushing out at this point. And don't act like Google hasn't been the standard for search for the past 20 years, what if these companies end up just being the AI for the next 20 years?
>>
>>722532509
I am though.
The problem is that it is a one-man hobby project.
I'm not willing to spend a lot of my limited free time on it.
So it's maybe ready after several years if ever.
>>
>>722532583
Sure it would be? It wouldn't be 'making your dream game yourself' if the AI was doing it. But it would still be your dream game as the final product.
>>
>>722532509
we're too bus generating our dream gfs with AI

it's unlikely once you look at the economics behind how they're "generating" wealth and the immense return necessary for them to become profitable. they're just running a get-rich quick scam while the government's printing unlimited money for them. eventually stakeholders are going to want to see some kind of return on their investment as well that isn't phantom circulation or service debt, and that's when people will start pulling out. i'm not saying AI will disappear completely, but like the .com boom, the hype will taper out and people will stop looking at it as a telos for human evolution, it's just another profit tool to line an asshole's pockets.

It really wouldn't be. It's only my 'dream game' in the sense that I've given a set of instructions to the AI to make what it thinks is my dream game. There's always going to be a disconnect between my vision and the final product because the AI is incapable of seeing things from your point of view. It just works with the collective knowledge scraped online.

Personally the AI I'm using can't keep up with my demand so I'd give it another 3 years at least.

Convince me, as someone with zero talent, knowledge, or experience, that I should make a game with AI, using someone else's game as an example with the same amount of my own experience.

I don't need any tool to generate things that my mind can already dream of. If I can dream it, giving it form only lessens it. The physical world will never be as exquisite as my mind.

The thing that interests me most about games is seeing someone else's ideas, and ideally ideas that I would never come up with myself in the first place.

Roll a dice. It's what the AI does, and it's seen most of the world which you haven't, so you're bound to see something "new" especially in stochastic context.

Alright man. Present something that's not short clips or pornography that AI has done that's worthwhile.

>AI game engine
I find it really weird and depressing that there aren't companies working towards things like that. John Carmack said the same too, that he found it odd that there are very few coding gods working using AI to make billion dollar companies.
Most AI companies are really kind of low level stuff, flashes in the pan like Midjourney or whatever.

I implore you, fellow frens and turboautistic frens alike — there is almost assuredly a 100% chance at least one person in this topic might truly benefit from and enjoy perchance ,d0t. org, and since i am pretty sure it was either a fellow fren from 4chan, or a fellow gooner from f95, that told me about perchance in the first place; i'd have never known bout it prior, it's weirdly obscure for some reason

Either way, it's completely free, and you may or may not have to even verify the email u give when u make ur account. oh also u dont even have to make an account and can just browse the public creations

basically it's like, ok how do i put it. it's like one of those genuinely fun sites on the internet that haven't been a thing since like 2005 - it has lots of AI plugins and stuff, and a custom code/IDE or whatever through ur browser that somehow merges CSS, javascript and html - possibly python too - and u like, can make shit. like anything, within the tech. Most people just fuck with the AI text plugins or smut-generating image shit, and i admit i do too when im out of creative oil to burn. But you can make video games and technically software with it too

it is so fucking fun. i hope this autistic, stimulant-fueled nonsense rant helps at least one person. u will have a blast and u will learn to code without even trying to or realizing it, since the built-in AI helper can LITERALLY be asked to "Hey can you make a porn game for me" or "Hey can you make a platformer/rpg/side-scroller/fighting game" and it fucking does it. Even makes its own very basic, but still mindblowingly-functional graphical elements, when need be

godspeed frens
