>THE VIDEO GAME INDUSTRY IS GONNA CRASH! IT'S GONNA CRASH YOU GUISE?!?!?!?!!?You've been saying it for 10+ years now, nothing ever happens. At worst som studios will close, Microsoft will admit defeat, and the industry will on trucking and churning out slop for the masses to consume in ever more nickel and dime fashion, as everyone is poor now and it's optimal money wise to milk a billion people for pennies, than 50 million "gamers" for $60.
>indie souls-like 8 bit pixel art roguelite deck building survival coop metroidvaniaIt's gaming time.
>>722532987today I will remind them it's impossible for Nintendo to crash their own industry, they created it way before most of you were born
>>722533258Nintendo is safe for the next few decades, because they have their cult fanbase to prop them up. But it's not the 1980's anymore, it's not even the 00's. There isn't a massive generation wave of new nintendo cultists being indoctrinated right now. They're all playing Roblox and Minecraft. Nintendo has always relied upon hitting them early and hooking them young, but in today's economy Nintendo is a luxury most can't afford. Nintendo isn't doomed, but if they maintain their current course then it's gonna slow death over the next 20-40 years.
>>722532987This is true. The gaming market will never crash and the stock market will never crash. This is why I'm long on semis
>>722533529>There isn't a massive generation wave of new nintendo cultists being indoctrinated right nowLet me just fucking annihilate that.>Best selling console of all time (Pretty much a given)>Best selling console of all time in the US and Japan>Best selling fighting game in history>Best selling racing game in history>Best selling 3D platformer in history>Best selling video game of all time in Japan>Fastest selling console in history>Biggest video game box office movie in history>Biggest entertainment IP in human history>Highest rated game in history>TOTK has the most perfect scores in history>Three of the highest rated games of the last decade>Resurrected the entire industry with the NES>Avoids mass layoffs and are expanding>Richest company in Japan>Most sought after game company to work for in Japan with a 98 percent retention rate>Games always behind the glass at Walmart>No accessibility options so no retards can play their masterpieces>Debuts the 3DS with a bunch of sexy blonde bimbos at E3 2010
>>722533529>cult fanbaseThat is a red herring and a total false dichotomy. Nintendo is going to continue winning by virtue of making good games and charging a premium.
>impatient zoomer is a wojakposter
>>722533848>That is a red herring and a total false dichotomy.Who else is paying $60 for Breath of the Wild 10 years later except cultists? You can't get away with never dropping the price on your game, or having pathetic, insulting "sales" like asking $40 for games that are years old unless your fanbase is primarily comprised of cult like devotees.
idk man, variety streamers can't come up with anywhere close to enough decent new games to play. I just use that as hyperbole though because the bigger issue is I can pirate any game I want in seconds yet I can't find a single damn game I can stand to play anymore. And the few games that I WOULD buy, because they manage to give me more than 10 hours of enjoyment, never actually EARN my dollar because their devs get lazy after making a few thousand sales and give up on completing their initial product vision. And then you have shit-ass forced-always-online SaaS games...even if they can be enjoyable enough to just absent-mindedly waste hours every day on, they too are beholden by a financial model (and a key aspect of their existence, that being their SaaS nature) that prevents them from ever finishing THEIR vision! It's all such a fucking joke....if we all made half as much fuss as a "industry crash" by pirating our games and making them EARN our dollar first, we wouldn't be in this dogshit scenario.
you forgot "narrative based"
>>722534357It's still selling well, tard. You've ironically been indoctrinated and are inundated in your own bullshit.
>>722534651Yes, it's selling well, to cultists.
>>722532987>nothing ever happensDo you need a list of all of the multi-million dollar Studios that have closed in the past 2 years? How fucking stupid are you to not see that it's happening right now.
>>722534949derangement syndrome at its finest, tard
>>722535384>Do you need a list of all of the multi-million dollar Studios that have closed in the past 2 years? And? There's still an endless supply of AAA slop being churned out.OHHHH BOO HOO, PEOPLE GOT FIRED. Employess mean nothing in 2025. Every company is massively bloated with useless retards who do nothing. At the end of the day, they're still churning out big budget games for people to dump their money into. And no amount of cope about indies or the collapse of AAA will ever amount to anything real.
ok guys, I'm starting a team. we make good games. good idea yeah?
