Cheers. Shame it's not on GoG, since it's apparently a bit of a pain to setup, but I'd basically just goof around in the basic quarry doing stunts, crashing people and going fast. No wonder that I enjoyed Tribes: Ascend as well.

Jokes aside, I like how arcady they are. Always preferred the more whacky racing games, in terms of speed and tracks, over racing sims. Also played a lot of Trackmania for that reason.

Lap based arcade racers got basically absorbed by kart racers, thanks the stupid amount of sales mario kart achieved.

Trackmania is still around, probably because it's all time trial. I like that it's basically a derivable roller coaster simulator.
