I think at this point GTA 5 (and Online) has been out for so long that people have stopped caring for singleplayer GTA that they have actually genshin impact'd the story into GTA Online and I'm not sure about the continuity or whatever but as far as I know, GTA Online started out 'before' the events of GTA 5 and now we have stuff happening timeline-wise 'after' GTA 5.

I guess at this point, for some people, the question will be: how will GTA 6 tie into GTA Online?
