PAL or NTSC ROMs?
>>722543489US ROMs where possible. None of that PAL shit for me thanks (unless it's a PAL exclusive or Japanese budget game that only got a PAL English release)
Why would you ever want to use PAL ISOs? Using a PAL CRT isn't a reason. Throw that shit in the trash where it belongs and stop being European.
>>722543950Isn't PAL higher resolution? I'm fm Europe but conflicted on downloading US ROMs as they aren't compatible with PAL saves.
>>722544230Most PAL releases just fill the extra resolution with black borders. Up to you though if you have saves
>>722544230Pal has to run at a lower hz (50 compared to 60 hz ntsc has)As a result, its common for games to run like 10% slower if devs dont account for this.Pal CAN have better image quality with this one specific connector which specific pal tv sets have, but no pal games do not have better resolution compared to ntsc games
>>722544408Isn't PAL 576i 50hz while NTSC is 480p 60hz? I guess I'll have download both for one game and compare.
>>722544774it varies on the title. in 99% of the case you will want progressive scan + 60hz.
>>722543489pal releases run @ 50hz and most remove the progressive scan option if you own component cables
PAL is no friend of mine, pal
>>722544934>>722544839Im using a PS2 to HDMI converter on a HDTV. Isn't PAL 576i going to look a little sharper?
>>722545783the game is in interlaced mode now which doesn't play friendly at all with progressive scan mode. hdtvs dont do interlaced anymore they're all progressive scan.
>>722545783This post makes me sad
>>722543489how do I play PS1 games? I want to play the JP AC3 english patch on hardware
>>722548016mechapwn if your ps2 supports it.there's POPs emulator but that piece of shit isn't trustworthy.
>>722548168thanks hoss, I'll look into it. popstarter wont work, and my PS2 is currently configured for FMcB to run a razzberry pi with a HDD plugged directly into it. It'd be great to run PS1 shit like I run my PS2 roms.
>>722548317you cant do that because the ps1 cpu on ps2 board is used for both ps1 backward compatibility and ps2 I/O functions such as the hdd bay. as soon as you put ps2 in the genuine ps1 mode it stops reading the hdd.
