what if there was a game where you played as THE DEVIL
>conjure tantalizing offers to build a following
>capture souls that have succumbed to their desires
>goad people to abandon goodwill
would it be fun?

You need an end goal. One that would be satisfying

Yeah could be cool, except you have to make it hard and a slow-burn sort of way to make it have an effect. That's how corruption stories usually work where you see a descend to madness sort of play through. Usually it makes more sense to have Big Bad as the commander and him sending out people to do his bidding to corrupt morale etc in that sort of game. The greatest trick devil ever pulled was convince you he doesn't exist. Just like the Mafia, they don't exist, forget about it.

i was thinking maybe like a social regression thing where you see them degrade due to conditioning others to do your bidding and it spreads like wildfire. basically it's like reverse sims, you're trying to get everyone unhappy or something. i'm not sure how to pace it properly though.

basically anti-simcity rather?

Are you chums with the dungeon keeper?
