It was playable from launch, you just bought into the anti-hype. t. 90 hours in game from release month. Had a blast.Modern game hasn't really changed much at all btw. It's still the same game, they just added some more content to it with the expansion. None of the patches to it substantially altered what the game is, they just gradually smoothed out (mostly console) bugs. It was far more stable when I played it on PC than any Bethesda game.

I've played through it a dozen times at this point, around 2k hours of collective playtime. I enjoy it but you might not.
>>722550953Yeah it's great. Played it on the Ultimate 2.0 release on PS5. Got hundreds of hours. Fun Action-RPG. Really pretty to look at. Generally well-written missions/gigs with a few standouts and a few stinkers. Wish it had slightly more build variety, more weapons, and better cosmetics (you don't really get borged out with cybernetics, you arms do change based on what implants you have, but that's really it).

Make sure you have a good graphics card cuz if its a shit one you'll have a bad time. Game looks like ass on low gfx settings and with the way shit loads, if your PC isnt top of the line you'll literally drive too fast with the starter motorbike for other vehicles to appear on the road. Combat boils down to one of: >snipe the dudes in perfect safety outside of their chase range>spam grenades and shotgun to oneshot shit>be a jedi with a katana but the movement sucks until you're high lvl, but once you're high lvl there's nothing to do>be a spellcaster with netrunner abilities and waltz your way through the game never having to fight anything. You'll get 1, maybe 2 playthrus out of it. It needs more mods and suffers badly from most of the map being empty.

Interactive movie looter shooter with minimal, extremely shallow RPG mechanics that basically only amount to higher number = better, a largely empty open world with nothing to do except drive around in, a few good tracks on a largely forgettable soundtrack you'll rarely listen to because a few songs will loop constantly and you'll drone them out or turn off the radio entirely eventually, and shiny graphics that genuinely does look good most of the time. Overall I had a good time playing it but I wouldn't call it a great game at all.Yes, Phantom Liberty is better and maybe I would recommend just skipping vanilla Cyberpunk completely and jumping straight into that. It's the same gameplay but mostly restricted to a smaller map with constant "exciting setpieces" which is similar to the opening and closing of vanilla Cyberpunk. (Vanilla Cyberpunk, after the last opening mission, becomes a list of low budget chores to do instead until it picks up again at the end.)Vanilla Cyberpunk: 5/10Phantom Liberty 7/10 (save before a certain mission so you can do both mission routes if you're interested) betraying songbird and siding with idris elba is way more exciting and has the best production values
