Is D2R worth getting as a former D2 addict?

Really the only reason not to get it is if you're already playing the original on modern hardware, or if you don't agree with creative choices. And with a classic mode toggle you're basically just getting the game anyway for modern hardware.If anything, there's more novelty to the console releases on principle of being D2's first ever release on console at all, but the game really doesn't play that great with a controller thanks to the lack of targeting precision.

>>722551031Yes it's amazing and you can simply rebind keys to use skills by just pressing a button like modern games, i put skills on q,w,er,a,s,d,f,z,x,d, you feel like a god using all those skills that was a pain in the ass before because you'll had to set with a shortcut and them click the mouse to use, now i just press a button to use telekinesis with the Sorcerer and manipulate anything from far away, all the different shouts with Barbarian with good effects like taunt and changing auras with the Paladin is all instantaneous.Can't go back to play the classic version because of that alone.Them you have the actually good updates made by Vicarious Vision, Terror Zones fix a eternal problem with leveling up for high level characters and help you level faster and gear up for low level ones, they fixed so many bugs that even before the smartly done buffs you'll got new available builds the Druid for example had skills so bugged they never worked properly before.They also added good Runewords.And the graphics are REALLY FUCKING GOOD, you can feel the love for the original looking at the updates, minus the Amazon face that's the only thing they fucked up in my opinion.One of the best reissue of a game ever made.
it's the best way to play the original experience, a lot of fixes for 20+ year old bugs and a few new items / featuresPD2 mod is good if you want a "what if diablo 2 kept getting more expansions" experience
