Pale green because we have no widely applied real life metalsof that color if you don't consider oxidized bronze.

Cyan.

Copper = Orange, notoriously not copper
Bronze = Brown
Iron = Shitty kind of metal with no luster
Steel = Better more shiny metal with lots of luster
Special Evil Steel = Jet black for some reason
Mithril = hues of blue
Adamantine = hues of green
"Holy" metal = hues of yellow
"Corrupted" metal = hues of purple
"Infernal" metal = hues of red

See? It's all laid out. Perhaps you can swap mithril and adamantine but that's it.

Adamant in fiction is literally just a generic placeholder name for a very strong metal. It's like if someone today came up with a fictional metal called "strongium". It's not like Mithril or Orichalcum which have specific origins and lore.

you forgot orichalcum

Because it's just brass.

Pure white or very light gray.

Black like cast iron, but I associate it most strongly with D&D.
