Can we get a Neopets thread going? I get its main audience is stay at home moms these days but I know some of you moms browse here.
>>722565747>Are you ever coming back?>I have been starved for years. Did you know we can never actually die?>Sometimes I wish I could.>If you ever do come back. I will make you stay.
>>722565747why hasn't someone tried to re-create neopets? the concept seems pretty good, lots of games, interconnected resources and economies, events, locations, all sortsneopets but with more competency would probably do great
>>722568067Jokes on you, my account got deactivated so my pets got deleted from existence ;_;
>>722568379My account survived Nickelodeon's purge waves, so I'm in the process of talking to the new staff to get it recovered. I'm hoping it works.>>722568186I think the simple reason aside from infrastructure is that the fad of digital pets has passed and kids these days have moved to different things like Roblox. Neopet's main demographic now is women in their 30s, not kids.
>>722568935neopets could have been what roblox is now with some more competency
>>722568935>fad of digital pets has passedIt'll come back. Now is the time to start developing. Always buy the dip.
>>722565747I liked this kind of MMO way more than the shitty hotbar-cooldown gameplay that all the WoW clones popularized. That shit was so lame, when all sorts of cool models were possible
>>722568186>>722568935There's like a neopets classic fan project iirc I saw a YouTube video about it a year agoI'd hop on that with some anons
Give me a QRD on what my account would be worth now if I somehow found my login details >Completed secret lab map thing that let me buff my dudes once per day >Chia flour >Halloween paint brushes from like 2001 (or were they potions?) >Attack pea
>>722565747i hope this new revival project goes well, its not every day a executive quits his cushy job to rescue an old IP from subsidiary hell out of genuine passion.if any time, its right now as 2000s nostalgia is popular>>722568186>>722570550they have, theres grundo's cafe which recreates the classic version of the site. though they have limited sign-ups>>722571739a decent amount of NP though inflation has goten bad on the site like all economies, the one thing that would have been valuable were painted pets if they were unconverted, but they somewhat recently revamped that feature specifically to devalue pet trading because people were getting their accounts hacked over them
>>722568186All of these community based games suffer from the fact that they were basically proto-social media in an age where there's no reason to not just use social media. Best you can get is an ERP vessel like webfishing.
What do neggs taste like?
>>722572130I'm crossing my fingers too.What do we think about the first new Neopet in well over 10 years?
I retrieved my childhood account which has the secret lab unlocked but I don't know if I can bring myself to play it with such a cringey username. Starting from scratch sounds like a terrible experience too though, and it's not as if I can do any of the refresh money making schemes living in Australia with the latency I'd suffer.
>>722573749How bad is your username? If it's just a randomword2301 I wouldn't worry too much about it. It can stand as a symbol of the time.
>>722573654they fit in well, but it helps they were designed 20 years ago as part of an old april fools joke
https://www.jellyneo.net/?go=april_fools&year=2005These fucks should've been picked. Neopets needs more non-mammal animals.
