Aren't you glad Tank controls are gone now?
>>722568506what do you call the controls in racing games then?
>>722568874OP destroyed
>>722568874It doesn't rotate stationary unlike real tank controls
>>722568506For the anons that like tank controls, why?I will admit that they work pretty well in games that only have fixed camera angles like the older RE games, but other than that those controls feel like ass.
>>722569229I don't think anyone particularly likes them as an end onto itself. It's just a part of a series of unique and excellent games. For fixed cam they are a necessity, but also more of a pain on gamepad. With d-pad you have to slide and hold your thumb all over, with a stick you don't have any tactile thresholds between diagonals and cardinals. On keyboard it's effortless. For over the shoulder, they just provide a different flavor of TPS gameplay. Some even struggle to recognize the same exact control scheme, because it becomes more intuitive, and as a result, more handy. For those 2 RE games specifically, it's nice for a thriller to restrict you vision and movement. If you have to book it, you don't get to retain full situational awareness, or turn on a dime. A quick turn might become an emergent jump scare.
