>To complete its privatization, EA took on $20 billion in debt, leaving the entire company in desperate need of cash flow.
Given EA's large portfolio of dormant IPs, it might be time to put those properties up for auction.
>Which IPs will be sold?
Sports, Apex Legends, and Battlefield will not be sold.

Maybe EA will sell off Medal of Honor?
Unless EA plans to have Respawn make a new Call of Duty clone.

Everything they can, I imagine. The oil lords only care about the biggest franchises.

>$20 billion in debt, leaving the entire company in desperate need of cash flow
Not how it works.
Here from the forbes article:
>Financing includes roughly $36 billion in equity and $20 billion in committed debt from JP Morgan, with $18 billion expected at close

I am no /biz/ but that essentially means yes they owe 20 bil to a bank but that is a loan, so it gets removed from the buying of the company money.
So say the company was worth 50 bil and they owe 20 the purchasers only need to give them 30bil as the 20 is already on the companies books as debt.
They of course wont have to pay it off and having the equity means they are not actually in debt, they are just borrowing on what they own. Essentially like a house you remortgage.

The Saudi prince will definitely sell Dragon Age.
This IP has been ruined by DEI, and unless the company is replaced, there's absolutely no hope.

Alright, I do hope EA would at least sell off some of its dead IPs.
Like the “Alice” series.
That way, at least the franchise could be reborn.
>>
>>722571957
>sell off some of its dead IPs.
I am sure you know how EA has worked for the last what, like 3 decades, they have bought competitors to shutter rival IPs/studios and absorb tech, devs and studios into their own.
from a financial PoV it is a smart business strategy.
With especially the sauidi prince being a weeb gamer, and there now being no smart business strategy to hold dorman IPs, they might and probably will do a fire sale and sell off dormant IPs.
I doubt very much they will buy new studios and try to get them to remake old IPs though so dont expect them to be making a new underworld or whatever.

If there are any IPs the weeb saud wants though, I expect he will fund it to be made.
Good thing about him too is he is complete hands off. Like he bought SNK and just said make the games and they have just made whatever they want.

>>722571823
This is a good poingt, EA DEI shit might end, just depends how much % he has in it because the other firms buying EA are jews and we know what they do.
Either way for us as consumers, we wont see a change in EAs games for like 5+ years.
I do expect them to get the FIFA IP back though, especially after FIFA fumbled the idea of trying to get a new dev to do it.

>Alice” series.
Ohh yeah. Alice in wonderland is public domain, anyone could make game around it.
Though alice nightmare game like that, idk if it would be compywrite. I doubt it though.

as much as id like for EA to sell shit like NFS, Burnout, SKATE and Deadspace to developers who care that is not going to happen
corporate entities today would rather sit on something for a thousand years rather than sell it to the competition for the simple fact that they might lose ''potential revenue''
These corpos hate losing money but if theres one thing they hate more is someone else making money, say they sell NFS to Microsoft for example, NFS has lost EA tons of money over the decades due to subbar entries and is basicly a dead franchise at this point, so in theory they have nothing to lose to sell it
But if Microsoft buys it and pumps out a NFS game that the fanbase loves, is a smash hit and basicly puts it back on track the only thing that would do for EA is lose face infront of its shareholders because all they will see is
>this franchise still had potential
>they sold a IP that is now going to rise in worth to the point that they'll never get it back
>IP mismanagement was obviously the main problem with the series and not overal fatigue
>they just made a competitor alot richer with something they used to own
long story short, jews would rather sit on a rotten plot of land for all of eternity rather than give someone else the oppertunity to turn it into a wheatfield

A new DA is unlikely to make a profit. The IP would likely require a complete reboot, starting with a DA:O remake.
In the case of DA, it is a viable option. Non-viable for ME.

>Dragon Age
your IP is only as good as your last game.
Bioware created Mass Effect because they didn't want to pay licensing fees to Lucasarts for Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic

the question: why would anyone want to buy dragon age

Any hope the arabs make battlefront 3 or sell it to someome who will or does that all go back to yidsney?

the titanfall guys star wars mp fps already sounds better than nu battlefront with its crowded non-interactive environments

despite origins being a fun game dragon age isnt all that good lore wise. mass effect on the other hand
someone should put that world in an isometric crpg

I doubt the Saudi prince would sell Mass Effect; he'd just ban LGBTQ+ content.

you own company XYZ.
you make 15 milly a year minus 5 milly on taxes so you profit a solid 10 milly and life is good.
jewish bank man approaches you and is like
>oy vey anodda shoah
>here's a 10 milly investment, gibs me equity in XYZ
you agree, and suddenly he turns round to go to the bank.
it turns out that he got a loan of like 100 milly and he planned to use uses the equity in ur company as collateral to the bank.
so now the jew owns ur company, they are gradually paying you the asking price and taking it over like a virus. don't forget, this isn't a hostile take over, you agreed to this. they take ur profit and leverage it against the loan, and over time the jew pays off the bank and now they own the company and can do what they like. in the meantime, if they want to downsize or sell off whatever assets you have to keep the company afloat, they can do that. these sorts of buyouts typically involve layoffs and various types of "restructuring" in the name of saving cash.
>>
>>722579246
Is EA in the same situation?
It looks more like they gave shareholders $50 billion to buy out the entire company. Of that, $30 billion was borrowed from banks.
>>
>>722578827
Do those creatures even care about or like sci-fi? It probably conflicts with their subhuman practices to see a white dude teaming up with aliens to fight evil and fuck women.
>>
>>722578827
>he'd just ban LGBTQ+ content.
people still think the Saudis are going to do that?
Islam is pretty clear that selling stuff you can't do yourself to nonbelievers is 100% acceptable
Saudis are merchants first, if they figure that stuff sells to a certain audience they have 0 qualms about selling
>>
>>722580278
>if they figure that stuff sells to a certain audience
Well... About that...
>>
>>722580467
plenty of that stuff actually sells, BG3 contained a ton of LGBTQ+ content and it sold amazingly
Inquisition was filled with it and it sold great in it's day
the reason Veilguard didn't sell is because the entire game was ass
>>
>>722579560
yes I think it's a similar situation, but I'm not going to pretend I understand the intricacies of a LBO.

Companies sit on IP. 30 years ago EA bought Virgin Interactive just to not release their ultra violent massively hyped game Thrill Kill, A few weeks ago 2K offered to buy the canceled Perfect Dark game to finish it from Microsoft but MS refused, because they didn't want to give up the IP.
>>722571823
EA will make a soulless mobile game with the IP and generic merch like Tarot cards
What they're going to do is pump a billion dollars into advertising next year's sports games as the second coming while lowering the budgets of the games themselves.
We already see how the Saudis run SNK and their AAAA media blitz for the AA at best Garou City of the Wolves.
>>
>>722571957
maybe they can finally give it back to McGee
>>
Somebody please buy the renderware engine from them and make it pay to licence or better yet open source. We could have a second 6th gen golden age.
