Skill based match-making is just random matchmaking, it will never take into account any of the variables that actually contribute to a successful outcome, it just exists to further the sunk-cost fallacy and ritualization associated with all of this pfreemium cash shop garbage while actively refocusing your hatred for the game onto the playerbase.
Matchmaking doesn't value your time, puts you together with people you hate, is hostile towards modding and actively drives the community into being a cesspit, it is not good.
Dedicated servers with drop-in/drop-out support and basic modding tools like a map editor are pretty much the only way to structure a multiplayer game if you value the player's time and fun as well as the game's longevity.

CoD is actually just a really poorly designed game that will never feel fair, no matter how you assemble matches. People complaining about SBMM in it are missing the forest for the trees.

its not a real FPS, it's kind of most like Tony Hawk's now that i think about it. like how the streamer can bounce from spawn to spawn whilst doing 360 noscopes and hail mary tomahawk kills in between is like a long combo racking up millions of points.
but you need a steady supply of of christmas and birthday kids who just installed to do it. it falls apart and almost becomes like a FPS when its other competent players going against you. and no one wants that.
